Lean Pockets Grilled Chicken Parmesan Calzones Review

Is This Lean Pocket Too Lean?

The new Lean Pockets Grilled Chicken Parmesan Calzones looked delicious sitting in the grocer's freezer and I thought that I would give them a shot. Since I am a fan of some other types of Hot Pockets and Lean Pockets I thought it would be tasty and quick to make. I wasn't too dissappointed but I wasn't surprised either.

The Lean Pockets Grilled Chicken Parmesan Calzones cook in 2 minutes and forty-five seconds each although some microwaves will probably require a few seconds more. A special sleeve comes for you to cook the Lean Pocket Grilled Chicken Parmesan Calzone in the microwave. If you are following the oven directions then you should not use the sleeve and be prepared to wait fifty minutes. The Lean Pocket Calzones cannot be cooked in a toaster oven.

The crust appeared to be sprinkled with herbs and spices and tasted slightly salty. The crust was soft and easily edible. The shape was odd with one long side and three shorter ones. Stuffed inside the crust was a filling made of a combination of tomato sauce, chicken and parmesan. The chicken was cut into very small pieces.

I was not surprised nor disappointed in the taste. Although it was good and satisfying, the taste did not pop out at me. The only real complaint I have is that the chicken was cut so small that it almost seemed there was barely in there. I guess that is what one should expect from a low fat meal, but I did expect more chicken than I got since it is listed as third in the ingrediant list.

The New Lean Pockets Grilled Chicken Parmesan Calzones is a great luch time meal or late night snack because it is both filling and relatively low in fat. Each calzone contains only six grams of fat and two hundred seventy calories. Thanks to the whole grain crust, each calzone also gives you twenty-one grams of whole grain. You also gain twenty-five percent of your daily calcium and ten percent of your Iron. Also, each Calzone equals five Weight Watcher points. The real downside is that each calzone holds twenty-eight percent of your needed daily intake of sodium.

The New Lean Pockets Grilled Chicken Parmesan Calzones can be bought at Walmart or many other retailers for only two dollars and fifty cents. The Lean Pockets Calzones come two to a ten once box.
