Leap Year Provides One More Disney Day

Martha Fry

Disney rolled out its newest promotion during Dick Clark's New Year Rockin' Eve on Saturday night. Playing off of 2012's Leap Year status, Disney will be giving park goers one more day by opening both its Florida Magic Kingdom park and its California Disneyland property from 6:00 am on February 29, 2012, until 6:00 am on March 1, 2012. This will be the first time the parks have ever been open for a consecutive 24 hour period.

Disney is promising that the 24-hour park fest is just part of its One More Disney Day promotion. To keep Disney fans abreast of deals and details, the company has created OneMoreDisneyDay.com. The site already features two new promotional deals.

Make a reservation for a room and ticket package of three nights or more between February 26 and March 10, and Disney will throw in an extra night hotel accommodation for free. Reservations must be made before January 31.

Disney is also running a sweepstakes contest. Actually, it's 60 contests. Each day between now and February 29, Disney will select a daily winner of a 5-day, 4-night vacation package to either Disneyland or Walt Disney World for a party of four. Entries can be made online or through text messaging.
