Learn About Classic Cars, Muscle Cars & Hot Rods

David C. Atkin
American classic cars are fun to build, look at, and show. It goes without saying that are are fun to build also. We all know that people love custom cars, and hot rods; they just have a way of grabbing you attention and holding it.

Car restoration and customizing is pretty much the same thing. All of the same processes are involved in building any car, with the exception of custom paint. The process of building, or restring any car is a long one so be ready to spend some time.

I have built, and been involved in building a lot of different cars over the years, and I have loved them all. Yes there are always a few speed bumps along the way; but most good restoration shops, or custom shops can get by those thing without any major loss of time.

If your doing the work yourself you had better plan for these speed bumps in the road. The more prepared your are the smoother the process will flow. The articles that I write are all about helping you get your car project finished and on the road.

Classic cars and muscle cars are always fun projects if you approach them in the right way. Make sure that everything right down to the last detail is planned. If you have to by software for your computer to do the planning, then do it but make sure that it done right.

Plan you parts buying, painting, engine building, transmission building, interior, and electrical repair.

Be sure that you leave nothing out of the plans, the better you do this step the more fun the restoration process will be for you.

It doesn't matter what brand od car you choose to build; Ford, GM, or Chrysler the process is always the same. All though the parts prices will change between the three car brands. I always tell people to build a cat that they love, maybe a car the has some meaning to it for you.

I really don't lean in favor of any of the three brands, I love them all. Although over the years I have owned more Chevrolet's then any other brand. They all have their strong points, and their weak points. They are are a great project in the end, what matters the most is that you love the car.

I have been asked a lot od different questions about classic cars, and muscle cars over the years. The most common question is how much does it cast to restore a car. This question really has no answer due to the fact that there are quite simply to many things that need to be done.

It's impossible to see all of the places where the rust will hide, all the electrical problems, all mechanical problems. Wee you get the idea here, you can't possibly know everything when restoring classic cars, there are way to many variables involved.

In conclusion the most important thing is that you have fun building your classic car, or muscle car. This is what it's really all about in the end. So my friends have fun building your cars, enjoy the process, but most of all you should enjoy the car when it's done.
