Learn How to Craft a Warm and Trendy PomPom Scarf
You Can Craft This Trendy Pompom Scarf in a Short Amount of Time
Materials:
2 skeins worsted weight yarn
3" wide cardboard
yarn needle
scissors
Directions for making a pompom:
Begin by wrapping the yarn around the cardboard 75 times. Now carefully slide the yarn off off the cardboard and try not to disturb the loops. Cut a piece of yarn approximately 10" long and tie it tightly around the center of the yarn loops that you removed from the cardboard. Cut the loops of yarn on each end. Now trim the ends of the yarn to make the shape of a pompom. When trimming the ends try to make sure the pompoms are close to the same size. Be sure to cut the long strings that were used to tie the pompoms together. You will need to make a total of 40 pompoms, to make a trendy pompom scarf that measures approximately 55" long.
Directions to assemble the trendy pompom scarf:
Cut a piece of yarn that measures 65" long. Thread the yarn needle and tie one end with a tight double knot. Push the needle through the center of a pompom and slide the pompom down to the knotted end of the yarn. Continue adding the rest of the pompoms until the scarf reaches your desired length. Now remove the needle. Tie a double knot next to the last pompom and cut off the excess yarn.
Tips: You can add more pompoms to make your trendy scarf longer or use less pompoms for a shorter pompom scarf that will fit a young child.
Hints: You can use yarn in 2 different colors to add pizazz to your pompom scarf. You can mix the 2 colors together to create the pompom or make half the pompoms one color and the other half another color. Alternate the colored pompoms as you string them on the yarn.
Enjoy your warm and trendy pompom scarf!
