Learn How to Create an Elegant Table Display
This is a Fun Craft Project that Includes Different Textures by Using Three Main Elements.
Materials:
a large glass or ceramic vase
sandpaper
bronze spray paint
clear matte spray paint
Directions:
Remove any loose particles with sandpaper if needed. Wash the vase with soap and water and allow to dry. Lightly spray the vase with an even coat of metallic bronze paint. Allow to dry according to the manufacturers directions. Apply a second coat of paint if needed. After the paint has thoroughly dried, spray with a coat of clear matte paint to protect the bronze finish. Let the vase dry completely.
Tip:If bronze doesn't suit your home decor, you can use any color metallic paint that you prefer.
While your vase is drying you can begin crafting your Blossom Branches.
Materials:
White tissue paper, pencil, flower stamens (available in craft stores), brown floral tape, real tree branches, hot glue gun/glue, floral foam and moss.
Directions:
To make each flower blossom, begin by cutting the white tissue paper into 1.5" wide X 4.5" long tissue strips. Fold the strips of tissue paper accordion style, creating some with 3 or 4 panels and some with 5 or 6 panels to vary the shape and size of the blossoms. Using the pencil draw a rounded shape on the top of each fold and cut along the line to form the shape of the petals.
Unfold the strips and place 3 or 4 stamens in the center. Wrap the paper around the stamens, pinching the base together as you go. Cut a 1" piece of brown floral tape and wrap it around the base. Trim the stem if needed, and gently spread and shape the flower petals. Now hot glue the blossoms to the tree branches in clusters, with the larger blossoms on the bottom, work your way towards the top with the smaller blossoms.
Fill the vase with floral foam, making sure it is a snug fit. Insert the branches into the foam to create your arrangement. Add some hot glue to the top of the foam and cover it with moss. You have finished crafting your elegant table display.
Tips: Check out the yard for any fallen tree branches. Remove any stems and trim the limbs if necessary.
Hints: To give your tree branches a sleek look, scrape off all of the tree bark and sand smooth if necessary. Spray paint the tree branches. The best colors to paint the tree branches are: white, black, silver or gold.
