You can learn to speak French at The Alliance Francaise of St. Louis in a fun environment with small class sizes and native-quality speakers of the language. They have new sessions starting all the time.

The Alliance Française of St. Louis is a non-profit French school and cultural center that is part of a global network of over 1,135 associations in 138 countries. They have 140 chapters that operate in the United States. "Founded in Paris in 1883, the Alliance Française works to promote French language and culture. This organization thrives not only in Paris but since it's founding has expanded around the world. The Alliance Française is the largest cultural network in the world."

The St. Louis Chapter offers group classes at their location: 8505 Delmar Blvd., Suite G, St. Louis, MO 63124. They also offer private tutoring for all ages, which can be scheduled at your convenience on or off site.

The classes start at a beginning level and offer classes for adults, teens, children, even infants and are specifically geared to each learning level. The classes for kids are fun and incorporate singing and games that teach the language in a variety of mediums.

Débutant (Beginner)

Beginner I (avec Sandra) Mondays 6-8 p.m. $174 + book (6 weeks)

Beginner I (avec Sandra) Thursdays 2-4 p.m. $174 + book (6 weeks)

Dive into French using a fun and simple text, French is Fun I. Material covered will include common phrases and simple vocabulary with an emphasis on French pronunciation.

Beginner II (avec Emily) Mondays 6-8 p.m. $174 + book (6 weeks)

Expand your vocabulary and grammar for basic situations as you build on the material covered in Beginner I with French is Fun I.

Beginner III (avec Emily) Thursdays 6-8 p.m. $174 + book (6 weeks)

Build a greater repertoire of vocabulary and grammar as you progress to the next level using the French is Fun II text.

Beginner IV (avec Simon) Thursdays 6-8 p.m. $174 + book (6 weeks)

Strengthen the foundation you have built as you focus on furthering your grammatical skills using the French is Fun II text.

Intermédiaire (Intermediate)

Intermediate I (avec Simon) Wednesdays 6-8 p.m. $174 + book (6 weeks)

Gain further confidence as you learn to converse in simple terms using the Alter Ego text, activity book and accompanying CD. The FRAMES method (FRench-AMerican Educational Standards) is used in this course, a method used by other American chapters of the Alliance Française.

Intermediate II (avec Simon) Tuesdays 6-8 p.m. $174 + book (6 weeks)

Continue to build on your French using Alter Ego text, activity book and accompanying CD to further master the material covered. The class will focus on listening and understanding conversational French with CD and video supplements. The FRAMES method (French-American Educational Standards) is used in this course, a method used by other American chapters of the Alliance Française.

Intermediate III (avec Simon) Mondays 6-8 p.m. $174 + book (6 weeks)

Learn situational vocabulary and grammar using the Alter Ego text, activity book and accompanying CD with supplemental materials, videos and conversation. This class reinforces the skills you've acquired and focuses on communication, comprehension and written production. The FRAMES method (French-American Educational Standards) is used in this course, a method used by other American chapters of the Alliance Française.
