Getting indexed by Google gets you free, targeted traffic. It is also a very important prerequisite if you wish to monetize your website. Also if you want to sell advertising space on your website then advertisers will want to know that your website is already indexed by Google before they even consider you. This is especially true for blogs. Almost all the pay per post or paid to review opportunities available to your blog require that you as a blogger be indexed by Google. So to make a long story short, no Google index, no dough.
As a web publisher who maintains 6 sites I have learned a lot about web promotion and getting web traffic. Over the years I have tried a number of methods on getting indexed by the major search engines and I have come up with a method that requires very little time, very little effort and produces very quick results. Some people may spend days or weeks trying to get indexed but I get my sites indexed in a matter of hours and the way I do this is absolutely free.
The concept we are going to use to get your site indexed is that we are going to piggyback on an existing website's already established reputation with Google to establish your reputation with Google. This is much like handing out fliers to a new store in front of a very busy Wal-Mart. You use Wal-Mart's established traffic flow and location to promote your new offering to the public.
The first thing that you as a web publisher must do to get indexed is look for a website with a high page rank. The page rank should be 4 or higher. Very briefly page rank is important because it means that a website with a 4 or higher page rank gets visited by the Google spiders on a very regular basis.
Next the website that you choose must have a forum. This is crucial!! Google loves websites with new and constantly updating content. The forum of a website provides just that, so the forum gets visited by Google spiders on a daily basis and sometimes even hourly.
Go to the forum & sign up to become a user. Depending on the particular forum it takes all of five minutes to join. Once you are logged on as a registered user of the forum you need to find the most active part of the forum.
The forum is always divided into many different parts or conversations. People create topics of discussion in the forum and depending on the interest of the forum participants; a particular discussion will get a lot of postings to it as people respond and comment on the original thread of the topic.
To figure out how popular a particular topic is, simply look at the forum stats. Typically the stats would show you how many posts have been made to that particular discussion within the forum and how many page views that particular discussion has enjoyed. So it is very important that you choose a very active portion of the forum to participate in.
Once you have selected a busy topic simply go in and create a couple of posts within that particular thread. Create at least five thoughtful responses to some of the statements in the forum that you find interesting. Almost all forums have a button that allows you to create a link to your web site. At the end of each post use this button to create a link to your website. Repeat this process in the three busiest sections of forum. When creating the link to your web site use the actual internet address in the format of www.mysite.com.
When you post a comment within the forum of a high page rank site, the Google spiders visit that forum and also visit the link to your website within your post, so your site gets spidered and indexed just by association. A couple of hours later when you type in your web address into the Google search bar you will find that you have been indexed by Google. My best result in using this technique has been that I got my site indexed within 10 hours. You can expect to be indexed in 48 hours or less using this same technique.
So now you're indexed by Google, welcome to the club!
