Learn to Meditate

Practise Makes Perfect

Barry Shaw Sr.
Find a quiet place for meditation. Find a place where you can totally clear your mind. If you are outdoors and have access to beautiful scenery, where you can sit and not be disturbed, amidst the sound of nature (birds chirping, crickets, or just a gentle breeze), this would be a very good place to get in contact with your Spirit.

Before you start meditating, let it be known that you want to contact your Spirit Guide, your Spiritual Self, and the essence of your being.

The simplest way to meditate is to get in a comfortable position (aside from lying down) and focus on your breathing. When thoughts enter your mind (and they will) go back to focusing on your breathing. In and Out, in through the nose, and out through the mouth. Always return to your breathing.

For the 30-60 minutes that you meditate, release the thought of time; release thoughts about what needs to be done. That's the only way to become one with the soul. Your goal is to contact Spirit. Therefore, you must Be Still, allow your mind to Be Still. Know that you are made in God's image and that image is Pure, Unconditional Love.

Practice makes Perfect with everything we do and meditation is no different. Stay focused! If I may borrow a few words and tweak the theme of my favorite song by Rascal Flats entitled God Bless the Broken Road. God will "Bless the Broken Road" that will lead you to your higher self. Once there, or even in the vicinity of your higher self, you'll realize that we must Love Unconditionally.

Religious, educational, financial, and social differences have to be set aside in order to come close to loving your fellow earth traveler unconditionally. This is our spiritual design, our spiritual make-up. As we continually drift away from our true selves this is what leads to all the turmoil and confusion that permeates our lives.

Know the source of your being through meditation and lighten your earthly load.

It takes focusing to become more focused, I suppose.

As I was reading this, I recalled the hymnal "Peace Be Still". We're all in need of some inner me time. I'll try this the moment all are at rest in my hectic home. Thanks!

Great advice. The ability to meditate and clear your thoughts is so relaxing.
