Learn How to Make Money in Castle Age

Bethany Gonzalez Moreno
This a comprehensive guide to making money in Castle Age. Follow the advice written here, and you will be well on your way to making millions a day!

Step 1
When you first get on Castle Age, do the first quest until you run out of energy. Also, make sure you use your favor points on something good. Investigate before you waste those.

Step 2
Go to demi-quests and receive a blessing from Ambrosia so you can get the Sword of Light.

Step 3
Go to "Battle" and duel. Duel until you lose all your health. You have probably won some money of off people at this point. Don't invade anybody. Most people in the early levels have no army anyway, but just avoid invading at this point.

Step 4
Go pay Celesta the Healer in the Keep to restore your health, then store whatever money you earned in the keep. It doesn't matter that you lose 10%. It'll be worth it soon enough. You don't want to lose any of your money in the duel, and you could end up losing more than 10%.

Step 5
Use up the rest of your stamina, if you have any, and wait for your stamina and health to build back up. You can do quests in the meantime if your energy is back up. If you finish a quest, all your stats will be restored, so you can start dueling again. Don't ignore the quests. Keep doing them. You need to unlock new generals!

Step 6
Repeat Steps 2-4 until you have $15,500 in your keep. Take out your money when your health is under 20 so no one can attack you and steal it. Go to Generals, sell your current starter General and buy Elena for $18,000. You'll get $2,500 for your starter general.

Step 7
Repeat Steps 2-5, and trade up a general every time you have enough money to do so. DO NOT buy anything else. You do lose half your money every time you trade a general in, but it is more important to consistently be able to win duels. You can only do that with the best general.

When you get to around level 8, you will start finding people to duel with that give you $70,000 every single time you fight them. By the time you get to that level, you should have the best general you can get at your level. Every time you level up, spend points on defense OR attack. You can also increase your stamina and energy. Don't waste it on health.

Step 8
Duel people at random or scout their keep. You can click on the name of a person you want to duel and look at their stats. If they do not have a stronger general than you and they own a lot of land, they might be a player that leaves money laying around. Those people tend to spend points doing quests and buying land, and they spend their points on energy instead of attack and defense. Try your luck attacking them.

Step 9
Start adding friends on Facebook to your army. The sooner your army gets to 501 people, the better. Also, every time you "aid" one of your friends when they do an invasion, you actually receive some of their money, too. So, it is good to have plenty of friends.

Step 10
Start to use some of the money you have been stashing at the keep. At this point you are really starting to pull in money, because you have a strong general and a lot of people with 70k to give away. Target people who neglect to hire good generals and own a lot of land, like before. You can start buying a few things, but what you should really do is save $3,000,000, so you can buy a castle when you reach level 10.

Step 11
Purchase the castle at level 10. You should have enough money at this point. Keep dueling. Try to buy 2 or 3 more castles.

Step 12
Stash any cash that comes in. If you want to buy a few weapons for your army or your soldiers, that is ok. At this point, if you don't spend money for about 3 days, you will end up with $20+ million stashed in your keep. Just make sure to log in each day and stash it so someone else doesn't invade or duel you and steal some of it.

Step 13
Buy Land, buy soldiers to build your army, and buy weapons. You can do whatever you like at this point. Buying more land is probably a good idea. It is always good to increase your cash flow. You can also hire all the generals back, now, because you have more than enough money for their up keep.

wow...why dont you guys make your own guide then, so we can say its stupid, because i doubt you guys can make a better guide. So, instead of calling something stupid, be respectful when you criticize others.

Wow, you've written some seriously stupid things here. You write that your stats are restored when you finish a quest which isn't true -- you have to level to restore. You never need to sell your generals as the early generals have NO upkeep and you can just switch to the better generals as you buy them. Also the generals have specific benefits ie. Garlan makes your cost less when purchasing. Don't forget your Demi quests as they will help with potions. Finally, nothing is more important than building your army quickly.

Then heal, empty your stamina, and leave it low until you're ready again. You don't need health for quests, and monster battles hardly do any damage. To me, dueling is about Attack points, and stamina and health management. And seeking out the perfect victims--err, targets.

Seven: Spelling. Please, commentators, if you're going to criticize an article written in English, learn the language first.

Finally, eight: Keep your day job. The more often you log on the better you can do at this game, just like every other game in the category of "Facebook Time-Wasters". But no matter how many Battle Points you get, nor how high you climb in levels, it will not be as satisfying as what you could be doing in real life.

    Thanks for reading.

I never attack before scouting -- that way I never lose battles I start, and I tend to pick on players that have lots of land and weaker generals, units and items than I do. I've also bankrupted at least 20 "$100k'ers", as I call them, just in the last few days with this strategy. It's actually more profitable than castles and fortresses, if you do it right.

Sixth: I have never invaded, because I am an army of 1. (Go Army?) I have no friends that play the game, so I don't bother with armies or invasions. I duel. And if you're going to be a dueler, Attack and Stamina are key. I don't bother with Defense, because when someone attacks me I attack them back until they're out of health (on principle). They never come back. And do yourself a favor and stay away from hit point increases... I wish I could lower my max hit points. Use your hit points as a weapon, not a stat -- keep yourself below 10 until you're ready to fight. Then heal, empty your stamina, and leave it low until

    2. Once you've built up a decent land portfolio money will be growing on trees. Leaving money around not only gets it taken from you, but the repeated attacks also lose you more Battle Points. If you have something to buy with it, there's no need to stash it and pull it back out. But before logging off always stash -- and leave your health below 10 (formerly 20?) so that if you do get attacked, you'll quickly get back below 10 and they can take less Battle Points and cash from you (if you didn't stash it like I told you to). Note that money you get from land while you're offline doesn't get deposited into your account until you log back on, so it's safe from raiders. But once you're back on, you'd better spend it or stash it before you lose it.

Fifth: I hate to promote the strategy, because it increases competition on us starving duelers, but I use the scouting technique heavily. I never attack before scouting -- that way I never lose battles I start, and I tend to pick on pla

Going to have to post this in chunks. It removes newlines and cuts posts short. Third, by the same logic in my point above, you should NOT wait until Castles to get into the land game. Buy Small Towers as soon as you can afford them. Then once the ratio is better for Temples, start buying those. Follow the rule above: buy at the best ratio available, but buy now, don't wait. Spend what you need to or want to on generals, units, items and heals, but make sure you keep growing your income.

Fourth: Stashing money. I always stash money unless I'm about to use it. I average about 40 attacks on me per day, and I guarantee it'd be more like 400 if I didn't stash my cash. The smart attacker keeps attacking the players that give up $100k (formerly $70k?) until they are out of health. So if you keep money lying around, that will be you they pound on. Yes, the 10% overhead is significant, but 1. Aeris can lower it for you, and 2. Once you've built up a decent land portfolio money wil

    Don't listen to them...

First, this guide was clearly written before several changes were made to the game. Castle Age is constantly changing and optimal strategies change with it.

Second, all of you who are screaming "buy 10 at a time!" don't know your math. I am a statistician and I can tell you: Yes, buying 10 at a time will cost you less than buying 1 at a time 10 times in a row. In fact, because the cost increases by 10% of the base cost each time, buying 1 at a time will cost you exactly 45% more (1.45 times as much). However, if you only have enough gold to buy 1 right now, the revenue you will make from owning that one will pay for the difference long before you can afford to buy 10. So the rule is: buy whichever type gives you the greatest (income / cost) ratio, or the least time until it pays for itself, given your current options. Of those, buy as many as you can currently afford (but don't wait for more money to come in so you can buy in bulk.

    Third, by the sa

bettle monsters? I don't recall any battle with a bettle monster. Dude, what level are you SC101?? haha :)

  • Bethany Gonzalez Moreno12/6/2009

Yes, I know. I can't update my article once it is up. We were talking about the battles in the comments. I don't really know if battling monsters is the smartest way, because you tend to also level up really fast. You do not want to reach level 70 before you have a large army and loads of money every day to by the stuff you need to beat the armies you will find in the upper levels.
