Learn More About the Largest Hard Rock Cafe in the World in Orlando, Florida

Interesting Aspects of the World's Largest Hard Rock Cafe

Kristen Wilkerson
In the 1990s many people sought to visit Hard Rock Cafe restaurants. They would collect miniature guitar pins or logo sweatshirts from the famous locations. At the time only a fraction of the Hard Rock Cafes existed compared with the 163 H.R.C.s of today. Therefore, to claim the status of the world's largest Hard Rock takes quite some doing. This article explores the features of this large restaurant and hotel chain, particularly the Orlando location, the largest Hard Rock Cafe in the world.

The Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando, Florida, is located at the entrance to the Universal Orlando Resort. Parking is convenient, although expensive at $15 and up (current parking prices available here), since patrons park in the Universal parking structure. The location of the restaurant makes a great break for tourists who are walking between Universal Studios Florida and its sister park, Universal's Islands of Adventure.

The Orlando Hard Rock Cafe has the claim to fame of being the world's largest Hard Rock Cafe. In fact, the cafe has multiple rooms, which if totally bought out would seat over 1000 people. In addition, the Orlando location has a live concert area with additional seating of almost 700. If taking into account reception seating, the total capacity grows to over 4000. It's no wonder this location boasts its size!

Of course, finding open seats at such a popular venue may be of concern to tourists who are visiting from out of town or even another country. Luckily, for parties of 14 or under, reservations may be made from 2 to 30 days ahead of time using an on-line reservation service. Called PX, for "Please Excuse", this priority seating process bumps those who made on-line reservations to the front of the line upon arrival. For families with young children who are seeking relief from the Florida heat, having reservations would be a great idea.

The decorations in the Orlando Hard Rock are traditional in design with guitars, autographs, outfits, and a giant car representing the feel of Rock and Roll (see the attached photos.) The ambiance is full of fun energy with so much memorabilia to absorb, but also provides an excellent date or family setting.

All in all, whether collecting Hard Rock Cafe pins, enjoying a cocktail with a friend, or enjoying the traditional American fare, the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando, Florida, seems to have it all.

What are your experiences with the Hard Rock Cafe restaurant chain? With locations in 52 countries, how many Hard Rocks have you visited? Do you collect the guitar pins or other memorabilia? Please leave a comment below.
