The right kind of clothes - Never wear tight, ill fitting clothes during a workout as they hamper the ease in movement during the workout and restrict the movement of the body. Tight and synthetic clothes don't allow perspiration and the evaporation of sweat; they also don't allow proper flow of blood which in turn can raise the body temperature to a very harmful level. Always wear loose and light weight clothes during a workout such as a track suit, tee shirt and a pajama, shorts.
Shoes - it is important to wear the right kind of shoes during a workout or else we could strain our muscles. The shoes should fit perfectly and should provide cushioning and support to your feet. The shoes that you choose must be flat and they shouldn't have heels so that the heels don't undergo strain during the workout. The shoes should be changed as soon as the cushioning becomes less or if the sole wears out.
Warm up and cool down after exercising - It is essential to do a warm up exercise before we begin our daily workout regimen. This is done to reduce the risk of injury and increase the supply of blood to the muscles and ready your muscles for the workout. It also prepares your muscles for stretching during the workout and also prepares the heart for an increase in activity after the warm up. A warm up exercise is done for about 5-10 minutes before the workout till you have raised the temperature of your body till a light sweating.
Cooling down process after an exercise regimen is as important as the warm up exercise before a workout. It is done in order to prevent any dizziness that can be caused due to the collection of blood in the muscles of the legs, when vigorous activity is suddenly stopped. It is also done to reduce the activity in the muscles gradually after the workout. It is important to do 10 minutes of post workout stretching for every 1 hour of workout done.
Drink lots of water - You should drink a lot of water before the workout, during the workout and after the workout. The body loses a lot of water in the form of sweat during the workout, hence is it important to replenish that through good intake of water. It is advisable to have a water bottle and keep sipping on water in between the exercises. This will help you not to feel dehydrated.
