CPR training courses are designed to prepare you for an emergency and give you the skills you need to respond to one. The training you receive in a CPR class can enable you to save someone's life in a moments notice if the need arises.

Here are several places in the Chicagoland area where you can receive the CPR training that you need, whether just for your own preparedness or for a professional position.

The American Red Cross of Chicago
If you are serious about needing certification for work, a group you are associated with or just to be prepared for anything that comes your way, the American Red Cross is one of the best choices for CPR classes. The American Red Cross of Chicago offers several different courses and classes all over Chicago and the surrounding area. For the lifeguard, scout leader, or fireman, there is the CPR course for professionals. If you are just looking to be prepared for an emergency situation, but the class is not required for a job, there is the CPR class for the general public.

Both classes will get you American Red Cross CPR certification for a year, but the professional course will be slightly more intense and cover more possible situations that a profession could be dealing with. To find a class near you perform a search on the organization's website. Classes are offered all over the Chicago area, as well as in the outlying suburbs and neighborhoods. The cost for the basic and professional class is forty dollars. In addition, to the regular CPR classes, review classes are offered for those who's certification is about to expire and they need to renew it. www.chicagoredcross.org

Emergency Medics of Illinois
The Emergency Medics of Illinois offer basic, professional and child CPR classes to professionals and members of the general public in a group setting. If your business or group requires individuals to be certified in any type of CPR, a certified instructor will come out and guide you through the entire course so that all members receive certification. This type of class is great if you have an entire troop of scout leaders who need CPR certification or several new life guards, because the class can be tailored to your group and its needs.

In order to qualify for the group classes and rate, you need to have at least ten individuals taking the course. Cost is thirty dollars and the instructor will come out to your group as long as it is in Chicago or the Chicagoland area. www.emergencymedicsofil.com
