Learn to See Auras: A Skill Anyone Can Develop with Practice

Alice Langholt
What is the aura? The aura is the energetic information about a person's health, strengths and well-being. An aura is the most visible part of the subtle energy processes going on within all physical objects. Auras emanate from all physical objects, life forces and colors, as well as from many other energy sources. Experiences, sickness, headaches, worries, anger, sadness, happiness, love, and all manner of emotions and past experiences are recorded in the aura. Overload of these things can cause the aura to have impurities, blockages, leaks, tears, imbalance, weakness, or shrinkage. But these issues can be solved by energy healing such as Reiki, Chios Healing, or meditation practices.

There are seven layers to the egg-shaped aura. Each layer going outward is increasingly subtle to the eye, and ever changing. It is possible to train oneself to see the colors of the auric field. This is a learning process for most people who don't see auras intuitively, but it can be done with practice. The human eye from childhood learns to discern what visual information is relevant to their world. The rest of the information is rejected by the brain. Learning to see auras means retraining the eyes to accept the other visual information and process it.

How is this done? There are some great Web sites with step-by-step exercises for retraining the eye. Two sources are: http://www.astraldynamics.com/tutorials and http://thiaoouba.com/seeau.htm. Each Web site teaches the reader what the aura is comprised of, and offers suggestions for learning to see the aura in a step-by-step process. The student first learns to see the aura around a brightly colored object (yes, objects have auras too), and then a plant, animal, and finally a human subject. It takes time and practice, as the left and right brain need to share information in a new way. Optical illusion viewing helps to strengthen the left and right brain communication.

I have done the exercises and can attest to their effectiveness. I am able to see auras when I wish to, just by concentrating a certain way. I learned it by practicing the exercises on the websites in the paragraph above.

Another point is that, definitely at first, and most often even for the most skilled aura viewers, proper lighting and background color (white) needs to be present to get a proper viewing. Keep trying, and don't give up if the first efforts are unsuccessful.

One can learn much about a person's state of being and personal strengths by seeing their aura. Different dominant colors relate to different chakras, and each chakra represents a different personal strength or quality. For example, green is related to the heart chakra, and loving, generous people and healers have a predominance of green in their aura. Each color represents different aspects of the personality. A person skilled at reading auras can see if a person is lying by the way their aura presents a color when the person is speaking falsely.

With practice one can learn to interpret this information and increase their intuitive abilities. It may surprise you to know that you don't need to be clairvoyant or psychic to see auras. You don't even need to believe in their existence! If you practice the exercises, you will develop the ability to interpret the visual information of the auric colors. It's there, even if we don't usually see it.
