Learning Facebook - How to Delete Posts and Other Items from Your Facebook Wall

B.J. Rychener
Several people have asked me lately if it was possible to remove posts made to their Facebook wall - which is also called the Facebook profile page. Of course you can! This is your Facebook wall and you can remove anything posted here and anything you post on someone else's wall as well.

Since Facebook's policies and settings changed last week, even I haven't figured out how to keep my comments on friend's pages, likes, and other activities from being posted to my Facebook wall automatically and I have been doing a lot of deleting of these items lately. Most of my friend's don't really care that I am jealous of another friend's trip to the Bahamas nor do they care that I liked a certain picture or link that someone else posted. Okay, so my friend's who aren't Facebook stalkers don't anyway.

And not only can you delete from your own wall, it is also possible to delete your comments and postings from your friend's walls as well. In most cases you will be able to delete anything that you post on Facebook regardless of where it is.

First I will explain how to delete posts from your Facebook wall. If you are not already on your wall page, click "Profile" in the upper left hand side of the Facebook page you are on. It will be located in the blue area at the top of the screen.

Once on your wall, find the post that you would like to remove. If you move your mouse to the upper right hand corner of the post you will see a 'Remove' button appear. Click the button and refresh your page and you will see that the post is now gone. This is permanent so please make sure you delete the post you intended to.

Deleting comments on your posts or your comments on other's posts is very easy. There is a 'delete' link to the right or just below every comment made. Click on the 'delete' link and the post will be removed. Again, this is permanent so be certain that you really want to delete these comments.
