Learning the Language of the Mighty

Come Learn the Language of the Powerful!

Jordan Lutz
Want to be among the most powerful influences in today's society? Who doesn't? Want to know how to become this? It's simple - build a website.

With a website, it is quite easy to become a powerful influence to many people. If you think of an innovative new design, and if it's a hit, chances are your going to be a great influence. But if you want that perfect idea to be even more powerful, you need to get it on the all mighty Internet. But how?

There are many ways to get a website up and running. First I suggest you learn some coding language, which is my main focus of this article. To build a website, you need to know coding language, otherwise you will have some great difficulties with your website, unless you are strong with writing, and are willing to set up a blog, which again is for a later article.

The most basic of languages for websites, is HTML. HTML is very, very basic, and is just a start to a website, but you need to know basic HTML if you plan on building a successful website. Basic HTML is coding such as
, for a line break, or to bold a selection of text.

To learn basic HTML go to w3schools.com as it has great tutorials, and it's the site from which I learned basic HTML.

Once you've learned basic HTML, it's time to get a bit more in depth. Next, you should learn CSS. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet. CSS is the main infrastructure for many websites, as it most often controls the layout and setup of a whole website. Without CSS, websites would be much less sophisticated and complex, as CSS creates style.

If you prefer not to learn CSS next, then you may be interested in learning to code JavaScript. JavaScript allows many functions to work, due to it's complexity. It performs many actions, and can really benefit some websites. Be careful though when using JavaScript, as some browsers don't allow JavaScript, or many users have their settings set to ignore JavaScript. So basically, don't code your entire website with JavaScript.

If you like the style of JavaScript code though, check out PHP, as I think of it as a more in depth version of JavaScript. Many people prefer PHP as well, and it is quickly becoming one of the most used languages on on websites. It has the same style of JavaScript, but has many more functions, and is more usable.

This is a very basic article, and if you wish to get into more in depth articles, stay tuned for more articles from me, or go and search Google or Associated Content for more in depth coding articles. I am simply explaining what you should start with, and not truly teaching you the language of the mighty.
