You may start to build a new family; you may start to live independently out of the house of your parents; you may plan to buy a new house for your family... However, it's the moment to sit down and consider how to save money in your monthly budget as to achieve the goals you set. In order to learn how to save money effectively in your monthly budget, you should develop the following habits:

1 - Don't step out of home without a grocery list.

Each weekend, before you go shopping, you should always make a grocery list where you note down all the items that you really need for the following week.

During shopping, you should stick to the grocery list, don't do any unnecessary impulse purchases.

2 - Don't waste the leftover food.

For example, you may keep the leftover bread in the freezer and use it later for making pudding; you may keep the trunk of the broccoli for making delicious cream; when the bananas start to turn rotten, put them in the freezer and use them later for making banana bread. In fact, the rotten banana is a good source for making tasty banana bread.

3 - Buy your fruits and vegetables from outdoor markets or directly from local farmers.

Since the rent of outdoor market is much lower than indoor shops and the local farmers don't have to pay a lot for transporting their products, the products there are sold at a much lower price than the ones imported from other provinces or countries.

4 - Avoid buying artificial products and those containing chemical ingredients.

Don't buy processed foods from market. Instead, you should use the original materials to prepare the food by yourself. For example, you can buy a bread maker and bake your own bread at home. Then you don't have to pay the processing fee.

5 - Make a regular deposits bi-weekly or monthly from your checking account to your savings account.

This habit can help you save money month by month unconsciously. At the end of year, you will feel surprised about how much money you can put aside for achieving the goals you set.

6 - Use Internet to manage your bank accounts.

Most banks provide online services. You don't have to spend time driving or consume gasoline for going to a bank. You just have to stay home and click the mouse. Then you can easily manage your monthly budget through the Internet.

If you have the habit of using credit card and debit card to pay your bills, you can even use online services to categorize your monthly expenses and manage your monthly budget effortlessly.

7 - Reduce your gasoline consumption.

To limit consumption of gasoline of your car, you should reduce the speed your drive at and avoid abrupt starts and rush stops. If possible, use more public transit services than your own car. In this way, you can not only save money, but also do your contributions to protecting our environment.

8 - Be more creative!

If an item runs out before your next tour to the grocery store, use what you have on hand. For example, you can use beef to replace pork for cooking with potatoes; you can use red onions to replace the green onions for making salad dressing.

For bringing the freshness to your home decoration, you don't have to spend a lot of money in purchasing new items. You may try to change the deposition and combination of the old items in order to create a new look of your home.
