Today many psychologists even know that in order to feel safe a secure base is necessary. Jesus Christ is a sure solid "ROCK" foundation! In Him you can find a safe resting place. "Be my rock and my refuge where I can always go..." Psalm 71. God is Omnipresent, He is everywhere we are! As we grow spiritually we need to become more and more conscious of His constant presence. "It is in HIM we live and move and have our being..." As a Christian, our only sure, safe unfailing, true security and significance must rest in God. God has provided us with His Precious Holy Spirit as a permanent Comforter! This is why we can Praise Him through the storms of life!
Here are some interesting facts I would like to share about the amazing Eagle God has created:
The Bald & Golden Eagle are both frequently found in the North American Hemisphere. Classified as Raptors, they live in mountainous areas. Their preferred habitat tends to be to live amidst rugged terrain where there is a greater chance for abundant updrafts. This exotic bird carefully builds their nest which is often known as an aerie; approximate (2) two feet deep and (5) feet across. They add patiently to it year by year, sometimes their nests can weigh as much as (2) two tons.
Eagles themselves in general have a wing span of about (7) seven feet. They are such fascinating creatures. Have keen eyesight and can spot their prey as far as (1) one mile away. They have what is called excellent foveae vision. Meaning they have (2) two centers of vision. They see to the side and forward at the same time! Their vision is (4) four times sharper than our human 20/20 vision and they see in color! Adult male eagles weigh in usually around (9) nine pounds. The females weigh in slightly more between (12) twelve & (13) thirteen pounds. The Golden eagle is usually slightly bigger weighing up to (15) fifteen pounds.
The Eagle does not live in isolation. Interesting thing about the Eagle is they mate for life! Eagles spend most of their time in family groups! In the wild they live around (35) years and in captivity up to (50) years. The Golden Eagle has a shorter lifespan of around (15 - 20) fifteen - twenty years. This strikingly graceful bird flies about 30 m.p.h. and can dive as fast as 100 m.p.h. The Bald Eagle is considered an endangered species. Another interesting fact is. *Golden eagles are protected in the United States through the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Possession of a feather or other body part is a felony with a fine of up to $10,000 and/or 10 years in prison, although federally recognized Native Americans are able to possess these emblems which are traditional in their culture.
It is a beautiful sight to see an eagle glide through the air with seemingly effortless, precise, skill and graceful movement. Eagles live in a constant mode of renewing. Their feathers molt a little at a time for up to six months and are replaced. Interesting how you hardly ever see an Eagle walking...
However, Eagles do occasionally drown. They can see several hundred feet and into the water as well. If an Eagle is not careful when it goes after its quarry it will pick up a fish that is too heavy to lift! Unable to carry it to the shore, the fish will drag him down into the water. Instead of letting the fish go it will drown him. We as Christians must know our limitations we can only go so far. We must learn how when someone, an issue or a situation is too heavy when to give it to the LORD! Before it drags you down! God can teach you how to balance your load! "Take my yoke upon you and learn of ME, for I AM gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For MY yoke is easy and MY burden light." Matthew 11. Sometimes we must just step back and continue to pray, and turn it over to the Lord! It really is important to know when to truly "Let go and let GOD!"
Native American Indians know the value and power lessons gleaned from observing the Eagle. Having more than (7,000) seven thousand feathers they are yet lightweight, extremely strong ultrafleixible! As a Christian the spiritual warfare is ALWAYS about us, most just don't realize it! No, this does not mean that you must live in fear or become paranoid. But it does mean that you must stay connected to the Lord. Through constant unspoken and spoken prayer one must continually stay in communication. As the Word says; "PRAY without CEASING!" We need to stay connected to the True Vine for continued ongoing spiritual development and nourishment. Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble." John 16. It is only through Him we can safely navigate through the rugged path. "As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil." Psalm 23.
The Word of God is so very powerful. He never meant for it to be just mere words on paper. This is why, Jesus Christ came! He was the Word wrapped in sinless flesh! He overcame sin in the flesh to be our example! So He could come ALIVE in our hearts! Through Him we can always have HOPE! When you accept Him as Lord of your life! Your body becomes a temple, where the Lord's Precious Holy Spirit resides! Look around you with your spiritual eyes. The Word of God is fulfilling itself listen closely:
"Jesus said watch out that NO ONE deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming , "I AM the CHRIST, and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must take happen, before the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these things are the beginning of pains. Then you will be handed over to be persecuted, and put to death. And you will be hated by all nations because of Me. At that time many will turn away from the FAITH and will betray hate each other, and many FALSE prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness...." Matthew 24
In order to keep safe in the midst of turbulence; At times we have to "hide under the shadow of the Almighty." Sometimes we have to simply move to "Higher Ground." It is also through the Lord as His child, we are able like an Eagle at times; we can "Soar" above it! We don't ever give up we just surrender who, or whatever it is to Him! He truly is able! God has promised as His child! "He will fight our battles!" He is Omniscient and knows everything! He knows our hearts and hears our sincere prayers! He is Omnipotent and is ALL POWER! He alone is able! When we Trust Him; "Those who HOPE in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40. Praise GOD!!!
