Let's recap on what we have learned thus far of the Spanish Language. We learned about pronouns. Such as; he, she, we/us and they. We had also learned how to count to ten in the Spanish language.
Remember to practice often. Practice will help you to be able to pronounce the words ob the Spanish language better.
Let's take a look at a common greeting in the spanish language.
Hola
Remember how most 'H's' in the spanish language are pronounced.
Well, this 'H' is silent as well. So the pronunciation of this word would be.
O - La
'O' as in 'Oh my!' And the 'La' as in 'Fa LaLa La'
'Hola' is the Spanish word for hello.
Take a moment to repeat this a few times. Try repeating this slowly, then faster. Once you feel that you have it down, let's move on.
Let's try to say the following;
Hello, Jose
In the Spanish language the 'S's' sometimes sound like a 'Z'. Remember the sound of the 'J' makes in the spanish language?
That's right, it does make an 'H' sound.
Jose
Hoe - Z - Ay
The 'Z' sounds the same way that the letter 'Z' makes in the English alphabet. Please do not pronounce it as though you are saying the letter 'Z'. The 'Ay' sounds the same as the 'ay' in the word 'say' does.
Let's say hello to Jose again. This time in spanish.
Hola, Jose!
Good. Remember to keep practicing.
Now let's look at how to say, 'How are you doing?' in the spanish language. When written it would look like;
Como estas?
Co - Moe Ace - Tah - Ss
'Co' just like the 'Co' in the beginning of 'Coconut'. Moe as in the name Moe.
Now remember to practice often.
If you have a buddy, take turns repeating greetings back and forth.
Just remember that the more you practice, the better you'll get as speaking spanish.
