Leaving Comfort Behind

Donna Cavanagh
Sometimes our dreams must pry us loose
From a comfortable life we once led
Difficult decisions become ours to make
Do we stay where we are or do we move ahead?

The start of one dream may mean the end of another
There is anticipation but some sadness too
Even though our heart might ache for a while
That dream in our soul we have to pursue

We cannot pretend to know the future
Dreams and risk go hand in hand
But if we do not find courage and take a chance
Our destiny we will never command

The known offers advantages
You never have to worry where you are
But if you settle because you are afraid
You lose your wish on that shooting star

It is scary to leave our comfort zones sometimes, but necessary.

Following our dreams isn't meant to be comfortable, but the rewards for the risk are often great!
