LeBron James Joins Miami Heat

It's official: LeBron James is leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers to play for the Miami Heat.

James joins fellow superstars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in South Beach, giving the NBA a whole new meaning for the term Big Three.

The trio played together in 2008, helping the U.S. National Team win the gold medal in basketball at the Beijing Olympics.

James is hoping they can duplicate that feat at the NBA level, over and over again.

"I feel like this is going to give me the best opportunity to win and to win for multiple years," James told ESPN during the network's live airing of "The Decision" on Thursday night. "I want to be able to win championships and I feel like I can compete down there."

James' decision is a big blow to the Cavaliers, who had hoped their beloved King would remain in his home state.

But James is off to Miami, carrying with him career averages of 29.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game over seven seasons, all with the Cavs.

Wade boasts averages of 33.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists in his seven seasons with the Heat, begging the question of whether there will be enough scoring to go around for both players.

Bosh, who has also played seven seasons - all with the Toronto Raptors - averages 24.0 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
