LeBron James: The NBA's Biggest Choke Artist

The King Has No Heart, I'm a Witness

When he first came into the League, NBA fans and analysts associated the words 'winner' and 'king' with LeBron James. His High School games were shown by ESPN. The hype surrounding this kid was insane at the time. 8 years later, LeBron has shown the world at large that 'choker' is a more fitting word to to use.

What Happened? LeBron had the juggernaut known as Nike, that's what happened. Nike is all about building an image. The very Aura of LeBron is nothing more than Nike Brand smoke, being blown up the kiester of every living thing on the planet.

Does this mean James is a horrible basketball player? Not at all. He is still a freak of nature. He can still drive to the basket any time he feels like it. He can still impose his will on any defense when he gets angry enough, and do a lot of damage to them.

The catch is, he can only do these things if it isn't a huge game or series. While 'Bron managed to outright destroy the Detroit Pistons a few years ago, thus making us all 'witnesses' to his amazing feats, he was shut out by an old Spurs team. Something about that doesn't seem right.

While you could use the excuse that his Cleveland teammates were inept, and not worthy of starting on any other team in the National Basketball League, he's managed to stink up the joint in Miami as well. He's the greatest regular season player this league has ever seen. He can dominate the SportsCenter Top 10 everyday of the week. He just can't tap into that primal instinct needed to grab that brass ring when it really matters.

There is really no excuse for a team like the Miami Heat to lose the way they did. They 2 out of their three best players clicking on all cylinders. The third repeatedly chocked in the forth quarter, and was afraid to take center stage. LeBron James will get into the Hall of Fame for his stats. Unless he manages to learn the killer instinct of all time greats like Wilt, Jordan, and Kobe, he'll be known as the Hall of Fame Choke Artist.
