LEBRON'S REVENGE

Don't Call it a Comeback, I've Been Here for Years!

Thursday night (Dec 2nd) was the first time, Miami Heat forward, LeBron James stepped foot back in the Quickens Loan Arena since his Decision, July 7, 2010. Heavily booed by the Cavalier fan during the pregame warm-ups, it wasn't exactly what you would call a homecoming for the former King of Akron.

Still very hurt that their hometown hero, who was their best chance at a championship deserted them, fans yelled "Akron hates you." It was like being in a restaurant and seeing an ex who left you and broke your heart, happy with her new man.

"Put it this way, I would be hurt if my wife left me, I would be understandable hurt. But if she left me on national television and that's how I found out the hurt would be replaced by extreme anger," explains Mike Greenberg of the award-winning Mike & Mike In The Morning Radio Show on ESPN Radio, Friday morning. "That's how the Cleveland fans feel."

His partner, Mike Golic went on to add, "I'm from the Cleveland area and the fans there have had one heart break after another with their sports teams, and the hometown kid leaving, especially the way he did, is just one more thing to add to the history of sports in that city."

Like the title of Tupac album, All Eyes On Me, hate him or love him, Thursday night all eyes were on King James. How would he perform and handle the negative attention from his hometown fans that cheered him on for seven years? Cavalier fans hoped not only would he stink up the place but that the Cavs would win big. But instead the Heat dominated from the opening tip-off and went on to win by 28 point, 118-90.

LeBron dropped 38 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in 3 quarters and sat out the entire fourth quarter. He shrugged off the boos and score 24 in the third quarter. Dwayne Wade added a near triple-double (22 points, nine rebounds and nine assists). Chris Bosh had 15 points, that's 75 from the Big Three.

You would have thought the Cleveland fans would have known better to continue to boo him after he torched almost every team he face in a Cavalier uniform whose fans came at him that way. While he was gracious in his post-game interview, talking about how great the Cleveland fans and the organization are, you have to know it had to feel real good.

While James was gracious, he was unapologetic toward Cleveland fans. "I don't want to apologize," James said. "My intentions was to not hurt anyone...decisions I make, I live with them. There's always ways you can correct them or ways that you can do them better, at the end of the day I live with them. I'm so satisfied and happy right now."

Say what you will about how he handled his departure, but instead of getting into a war or words, he let his skills do the talking. While this was just a regular season game, but had a playoff type atmosphere, LBJ showed the world he can still rise to the occasion. This was a statement game for Cleveland, The NBA, the critics and all his haters. While he may never admit it publicly, Thursday night LeBron got his revenge.

Akron doesn't hate LeBron, Cleveland does. LeBron still reps Akron, my cousin from Akron said he's still with him. LeBron took what money Cleveland was getting him and put it in Miami. Cleveland has fallen on some hard times, and LeBron was the one good thing they had going on for that city. If Akron had a team, LeBron would have played in Akron. Everyone knows that LeBron was showing some love and paying the dues. He should have left Cleveland five years ago.
