Lee Dewyze Earns a Perfect 10 with His Rendition of "That's Life"

Lee Dewyze's performance of Frank Sinatra's"That's Life," on American Idol last night was done with such finesse, that I am sure that it would have brought tears to 'Old Blue Eyes' himself.

"That's Life" was a song that was written specifically for Frank Sinatra in 1966, and I have to say, Lee Dewyze truly did the song, and Frank justice in the way he performed it.

As Lee sat on the stool, and began singing "That's Life," you could imagine Frank Sinatra at that moment. Then, he stands and really brings life to the song. Lee performed with all the style and refinement that was Frank Sinatra. In fact, I would have to say that his performance earned him a perfect 10; at least in my book.

The judges were equally impressed with Lee's efforts. Randy Jackson said, "I loved it! I loved it!" Ellen DeGeneres was just as encouraging as Randy, because she told Lee, "If this was the last night of performing, you would have just won!" Kara, with her look of determination said, "You can win this thing." Simon seemed to bring all of their thoughts together when he said, "What I really liked was, you gave it 110%, and it was by far the best performance tonight."

As the show progressed, and Lee Dewyze performed last; I realized that I was truly glad that I was not a judge on American Idol. I could not have picked just one. Lee did not receive the standing ovation by some of people in that audience that Mike Lynche did, but it was obvious that the crowd loved him.

There is no doubt in my mind that we will be seeing Lee Dewyze on American Idol next week, and if he continues to perform as he did; we just might have a winner here.
