Lee DeWyze Will Win American Idol

Lee DeWyze will win American Idol season 9. Do not underestimate Crystal Bowersox, but Lee has the qualities, vocals and the American Idol look. Neither Crystal nor Lee have ever been in the bottom three. They are both solid singers and musicians, but Lee DeWyze is an overall better performer.

Why will Lee DeWyze Win American Idol?

Lee DeWyze's voice is enough to carry him through to the top two, but his growing stage presence is what is keeping American Idol fans voting for him. He has an unassuming disposition that makes him lovable and humble. His thankful demeanor was seen after his "Halleluiah" performance. Lee could not smile at the judges' praises or the audience's standing ovation because he looked like he was trying to keep from crying.

Lee has sung everything from "Get Ready" by the Temptations to "You're Still the One" by Shania Twain. His vocals are versatile but he still manages to put his original raspy sound into each and every song.

I began to really notice Lee as a strong competitor when he sang "Beast of Burden" by the Rolling Stones during American Idol's top 12 week. My husband pointed out that the main reason I liked him was because he sounded like Bruce Springsteen. Actually, I think he sounds better than The Boss. It may be a tough comparison to live up to but Lee DeWyze has the voice and the talent.

Why will Crystal Bowersox not Win American Idol?

Crystal has beautiful voice. Her ability to change songs and put soul into them is incredible. I have loved Crystal Bowersox from the beginning, but I don't think she can win against Lee DeWyze.

Crystal is locked into a genre of music. She performs wonderfully with bluesy songs and can easily be compared to Sheryl Crow. Crystal has her niche carved out and she will be a great artist. Her best performances were "Me and Bobby McGee" by Roger Miller and "Saved" by Elvis Presley.

Crystal Bowersox has her career in front of her. She will be a huge success, and I will be one of the first in line to buy her CD or download her songs. Losing American Idol may be the best thing that could happen to Crystal. If she loses she is not locked into a contract. That doesn't mean that they won't offer her one, but she will have more choices.

Both Crystal and Lee did an awesome job on their duet "Falling Slowly". Their vocals complimented each other perfectly. It would be nice to hear them perform together again on either one's debut album.

Lee DeWyze fits with what the American Idol competition is looking for. He is a versatile singer with a unique voice which gives him a slight edge over Crystal Bowersox. Either way, we will be hearing a lot of music from both of them in the future.
