American Idol 2010 Season 9 finale has a winner, Lee DeWyze! Tonight's American Idol finale deemed one of the best since the Fox show aired. American Idol said good bye to straight shooter judge Simon Cowell with some of the hottest acts on the roster.

American Idol took music to another level through performances from Alice Cooper, Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, Joe Cocker, Michael McDonald from Doobie Brothers, Hall and Oats, American Idol past winner Carrie Underwood, and other musicians that stepped on the stage to join the American Idol contestants in song.

When Casey James began singing Every Rose Has Its Thorn double takes were in full swing across America. Could it be? And out came Bret Michaels to complete the song in his classic style with James. Michaels takes chances and that's why he recently won Celebrity Apprentice. Against the odds on his health with a hole in his heart and recent brain hemorrhage and appendectomy he assists in doing his part in shooting American Idol ratings through the roof.

Cowell's emotions began running thick towards the end of the American Idol finale after enduring moments of his past brutal descriptions of some really poor auditions accompanied with words of well wishes from host Ryan Seacrest, judges Ellen Degeneres, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, including former American Idol judge Paula Abdul.

Abdul shared the reason why she left American Idol in a side dish joke. While on stage she asked Simon to take care of their baby. Cowell blushed as the crowd broke out in laughter. It was easy to see that Abdul and Cowell are more than just two American Idol judges. They appear to be friends that care of each other. A beautiful display as Cowell's emotions began to get the best of him as he thanked everyone.

But the big moment came only moments before the show closed. With only 2% difference America has chosen their next American Idol, Lee DeWyze. Even though Crystal Bowersox and DeWyze both have bright futures in the music circuit and a new Ford, compliments of car dealer, Lee walked away, by a hair, as tonight's American Idol 2010 winner.

Simon Cowell predicted Lee to win earlier today on The Ellen Degeneres Show. Personally, I hoped he was wrong. I wanted Crystal to win after comparing her last night's performance of Up To The Mountain with Lee DeWyze's performance of U2's Beautiful Day. But during the run of the season Lee DeWyze gained the hearts of America through song and strong performances as votes swayed towards DeWyze.

Next in line is finding the right personality that "couldn't" possibly fill Simon Cowell's reputation in sifting the slew of potential off-key cat screams during the 2011 American Idol auditions.

I didn't watch. I figured Lee would win and Crystal would get left behind. I just couldn't watch that.

It's a good thing I can bury some of the flat-line recaps, lol. Thank you for the compliments and comments.

What was that outfit that Carrie had on? My husband told me to turn it on just to see what it was!
