Left 4 Dead was released last November for the PC and Xbox 360. It was the latest masterpiece from world-renowned video game developer, Valve. What makes this particular game special is teamwork. In Left 4 Dead, you and three other friends play as the four remaining survivors in a zombie apocalypse. Although the game is still a first-person shooter at its core, teamwork is important to survival as it is impossible to survive on your own Because of its emphasis on cooperation, Left 4 Dead became an instant hit on the PC and Xbox 360.
However, the game did receive some criticism. The biggest of which is the lack of content as the four main campaigns can be beaten in just a few hours. For that reason, many were disappointed that Valve is planning to release Left 4 Dead 2 just one year after the first game. The fans felt that all of the focus will now head to the sequel while the first game gets neglected.
The support for Left 4 Dead from Valve has been great so far from Valve, however. In addition to numerous patches to fix up the game, they also added two maps to versus mode. Yet, many fans felt that these additions should be in the game in the first place as only two of the four original maps were in versus for the original release. The rest were recently added in with the new update. The only real new content that was added to Left 4 Dead so far is the survivor mode, which uses the maps already available in the game.
The Crash Course DLC is the first downloadable content with actual substance. The new map will take place between the No Mercy and Death Toll campaigns. In addition to the new location, the DLC will come with voice-acting that will fit right into the situation. The Crash Course map can be played in single-player, co-operative, survival and versus modes. However, the new map is best designed for versus mode.
The Crash Course DLC will be released in September for Left 4 Dead on the PC and Xbox 360. While it will be free on the PC side, Xbox 360 gamers will need to pay 560 Microsoft Points in order to purchase the content. While Valve wanted to release the content for free on the Xbox Live Marketplace, Microsoft did not allow it to happen.
