"Left-leaning, Liberal, Clintonista" Judge with Ties to "ultra-liberal" Civil Rights Groups Ordered Release of Gitmo Terrorist

Marc Schenker
A "left-leaning, liberal, Clintonista" judge with ties to "ultra-liberal" civil rights groups ordered the release of a Gitmo terrorist yesterday. U.S. District Judge James Robertson-in a secretive move that arrogantly disdained transparency-ordered the release of Mohamedou Ould Slahi, a Gitmo terrorist who in the 911 Commission report was implicated for recruiting 911 terror attack operatives like Mohammed Atta. In the same report, he was identified as a "significant al Qaeda operative" and was also once called "the highest value detainee!" But now, thanks to Judge Robertson and his liberal ideology that puts terrorists' rights over national security, Slahi will be a free man terrorist, and since the recidivism rate of al Qaeda terrorists is quite high, he'll surely go back to the battlefield to kill Americans and others! In a further outrage, Judge Robertson also kept the reasoning for his order secret-gee, I wonder if that's because he has no good reason?-as his ruling was classified.

From what little we do know of the technicality behind the release of the al Qaeda terrorist, we know that Judge Robertson-get this-actually granted a habeas corpus request by the terrorist, Slahi, in effect agreeing with Slahi that the government has no legal grounds for holding him! What??!! Surely, this judge has only got to be kidding in what surely has to be the stupidest and most tasteless joke of the year so far, yeah? Unfortunately, it's deadly serious, and this absolute lapse in the judge's reasoning power is exactly the fault of his liberalism, where liberals just aren't qualified to make sound decisions on terrorism matters. Putting aside the contentious debate over habeas corpus "rights" for terrorists for a second here-Though there really ought not to be a debate at all, seeing as how terrorists don't deserve habeas corpus "rights" since they're not citizens, and habeas corpus can be constitutionally suspended in times of an invasion of public safety, which terrorists certainly represent beyond the shadow of any doubt-the judge was just 100% incorrect.

Since Judge Robertson agreed to Slahi's request for habeas corpus, that means the judge is insanely asserting that Slahi should go free since the government has no legal grounds for holding him. However, the 911 Commission report called him a "significant al Qaeda operative"; he recruited some of the 911 hijackers; he voluntarily went to Afghanistan in the early 90s to get weapons training from al Qaeda and become a member; and military prosecutors considered him for the death penalty while preparing charges against him in 03 and 04! Does this list of incriminations-plus the fact that he was captured when the US was and still is at war with foreign terrorists-not constitute more than enough legal grounds to hold him? Well of course it does, but judges like Robertson allow hardcore, liberal ideology to interfere with reasoning ability. Hence, the classified order to free him.

Ah, but wait...there's even more dirt that really gives a sickening, inside view into the minds of national security-endangering liberals like Judge Robertson. At this point, aren't you curious just why the judge was oh-so happy to give in to the Gitmo terrorist, Slahi, and his request for an undue habeas corpus? Turns out, the judge-and sadly, even the military prosecutor planning to try him-believes Slahi was...are you ready for this upcoming BS?..."tortured" by US interrogators! No!...Yes!...No! Awww, yes! They actually believe that poor, little, defenseless Mr. Terrorist was "tortured" by the big, bad, law-breaking US when he had the good, old enhanced interrogation techniques administered on him during his all-expense-paid stay at Gitmo.

In fact, in 2007, the prosecutor on the case, Col. V. Stuart Couch, claimed "moral reasons" for refusing to prosecute the confirmed terrorist, Slahi! Sad to say, but it seems that liberal ideology plagued even Couch as both his and Judge Robertson's interpretation of so-called "torture" is totally laughable, which is what liberals usually exhibit in their accusations of "torture" against US interrogators.

To be sure, Judge Robertson's agreement with Slahi's request for habeas corpus has more than likely to do with the fact that the prosecutor, Couch, refused to go ahead and prosecute Slahi a couple of years back, all because prosecutors learned that Slahi was subjected to a "special interrogation plan," which caused him supposed torment! Ooooooo...torment!

Again, when dealing with liberals like the judge and potentially the lead prosecutor, Couch, it always pays to double-check them when they claim that interrogations and techniques by the US amounted to...cough..."torture" or "torment." Because to liberals, even the slightest, most non-invasive little things-that certainly pale in comparison to what terrorists do, things like killing, beheading, homicide-bombing, just to name a few of their trademark moves-stupidly amount to "torture" when done on their precious, little terrorist pets!

Here's an example-from the NYT itself, no less!-of what "evil" techniques the big, bad, bully US interrogators did to that helpless and defenseless, "misunderstood" terrorist in Slahi:

On July 8, 2003, the little, defenseless terrorist Slahi was exposed to-oh, no, I can barely continue-rock music by the questionably talented new-metal group, Drowning Pool, specifically their song "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor." Poor baby!! Drowning Pool is not particularly enjoyable to listen to, so I can definitely see why Judge Robertson and Col. Couch thought Slahi was "tortured"...not!

On July 10, 2003, the poor, defenseless terrorist Slahi was-brace yourselves, everyone!-made to stand in a room while handcuffed with the air conditioning-and here's where it really gets grisly folks, so prepare yourselves!-turned...off! I know..."torture" again, right?!

On August 2, 2003, Slahi was shockingly told by an "evil" interrogator to "use his imagination and think up the worst possible thing that could happen to him..." Now, if that doesn't just scream,"Torture," I don't know what does!

You get the point, hopefully, by now. The military prosecutor's, Couch's, reasoning for refusing to prosecute Slahi was total BS, as the aforementioned examples come nowhere near to constituting "torture" as all intellectually honest readers will concur. Likewise, Judge Robertson's heinous order to release Slahi based on habeas corpus nonsense is also BS, especially if he bought into the "torture" reasons the prosecutor cited.

At this point, believe it or not, the Obama Administration can actually be the "good guy" in this. Here's how: They can actually correct the insane and potentially murderous decision by the judge by still holding Slahi under the congressionally approved Authorization of Use of Military Force, which Congressed approved after the 911 attacks (thank Bush for that one, fellas).

The most important question is this: Does Obama dare to cruelly stand by and do nothing while a hardcore terrorist is released by a dangerous judge who's drunk with extremist liberalism? With Obama's popularity more ruined than ever thanks to Obamacare and his misjudgment to close Gitmo, one would think that he would be pretty eager to make at least a little public relations fix, at this point. But you can never tell with the liberals, can you?

In the meantime, if you feel like it, for your protesting benefit, I've included this link to Judge Robertson's contact information. Tell him in non-violent, non-criminal, and lawful terms how you fiercely oppose the endangerment of national security that he's perpetrating and how you condemn him for it. Again, only if you feel like it.

I sit in court at times wondering how judges can release the criminals when theyy have obviously and beyond a doubt killed, maimed, stolen or whatever. As tony so eloquently stated, "everyday monsters are released" back into society based on an individuals interpretation of the law. Slahi is only one of the thousands that are released on society! Problem is thee are those out there who have not been 'Tagged' yet!

Don't worry, 9/11 will be remembered and all this ridiculous political correctness also the next time a terrorist slams a plan into building or blows a car up in a packed stadium.

Good Grief, how did we get saddled with all these liberals? I very much doubt if Obama will do anything.

  • Jay Braun3/23/2010

with liberals nothing suprises me. I know all the conspiracy crap about obama being a terrorist is not true ( for the most part bankrupting the country both moral and financial is bad though) but he is way too soft on them

It's a shame that this country seems to have forgotten the pain of 911. Thanks for the tragic report. Cheers.

Unfortunately there are always judges who release monsters who whould not be allowed back into society, whether it's murderers or terrorists. I don't think you can necessarily blame this on the Democrats or Obama, but if this guy is still "all bad|", he will hang himself soon enough.
