Left-Liberals Are so Sickening I Could Puke

I was reading the LewRockwell.com blog today and I noticed this post by Stephan Kinsella entitled Hypocritical, Censoring Leftists (or do I repeat myself?) Kinsella quotes the following from a writer at Huffington Post, a liberal website which was once great and honest seeking to expose the truth about Bush and his minions, but now has turned into a shill for the Obama regime. Look what this writer says. I will bold the parts that Kinsella himself bolded because I too think they deserve our attention.

"Yesterday afternoon Glenn Beck and two of his guests argued that Adolph Hitler and the Nazi Party were "leftwing"; that "political correctness" led the committed white supremacist, James Von Brunn, to shoot a security guard at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC; and that ultimately President Barack Obama is the one responsible for the violence because his "bailouts" and "Socialistic" policies are engendering widespread anger. Beck denounced those who claim he is "churning the pot" because, he says, "the pot is already boiling."

Seeing this spectacle with subtitles at the gym led me to wonder if there are any laws on the books against using the public airwaves to incite violence. Because that is clearly what Beck is doing. I only caught about ten minutes of the show (about all I can stand) and it was a white reactionary tour de force - incendiary, stupid, and racist."

I couldn't believe this when I read it. Wasn't the left supposed to be all about free speech. I remembered watching Keith Olbermann griping about how Bush took away free speech every night on MSNBC, now I hear him ranting about how Obama is practically a god. As a matter of fact, on that very network a commentator proclaimed Obama to be like God only recently. This is pure blasphemy and not only that, it is fascism. The commentator in the Huffington Post criticized Glenn Beck for drawing comparisons to fascism but how is this any different than the veneration of the Great Leader that takes place in fascist regimes and communist regimes. As for me, I always thought that leader worship was something that could be saved for other countries but apparently the humility of George Washington is dead in America. Thankfully, Stephen Kinsella had a few words of wisdom.

"Look at the bolded text. This supposed lefty advocate of tolerance is obviously calling for the use of state force-criminal punishment, etc.-against people like Beck who dare to publicly decry the leftist orthodoxy. Despite the fact that Beck's comments simply sound like the conservative mirror-image of comments of lefties. These guys are out of control."

Although it could not stop there, to my horror, another example of leftist demands for cracking down on the free speech they allegedly love was found above. Read this blog post by William Grigg.

"If yesterday's Holocaust Museum slaying ... is not a clarion call for banning hate speech, I don't know what is," shrieked CBS News columnist Bonnie Erbe.

The would-be commissarina for cultural purity would go beyond mere proscription of speech she doesn't like, of course; she believes that we should be preemptively imprisoning what her Soviet forebears called "socially dangerous persons" right now.

Referring to the murders of security guard Stephen Johns, abortionist George Tiller, and military recruiter William Long (whose alleged murderer was an American convert to Islam), Erbe insists:

"It's not enough to prosecute these murders as murders. They are hate-motivated crimes and each of these men had been under some sort of police surveillance prior to their actions. Isn't it time we started rounding up promoters of hate before they kill?"

"Isn't it time," indeed! The promoters of militant collectivism have been patient long enough! String up the barbed wire and dispatch the V'Cheka: It's time for the Regime to begin an official "War on Hate."

This is insane. The left wants to criminalize thought. Hate is stupid, and shooting innocent people is evil and should be punished severely, but to criminalize motives is purely thoughtcrime, which was something Orwell wrote of in 1984. Orwell himself a leftist was concerned about the totalitarian impulse of many on the left, who spoke of freedom when out of power and crushed freedom while in power. Well, I'm afraid if Orwell were here today he would be no leftist because he would not tolerate open calls for thoughtcrime to be established in the books.

Here is what is absurd about this. The left pointed out (rightly) that the right was wrong for trying to violate free speech and Bush was wrong for creating things like "Free Speech Zones" which actually crack down on free speech. They criticized the right for demanding that the left stop their "unpatriotic" speech and often pointed out that the right was wrong for cracking down, no matter how radical some people got. The right simply wanted to criminalize speech they did not like. Well guess who wants to do the same? The left. Yes yes, the right is hypocritical for doing what they did and then turning around and criticizing the left, but how can the left fall to such hypocrisy? Freedom means freedom, not just freedom to do whatever leftists want. Thought should not be criminalized, and certainly not be the alleged champions of free speech.

In the end all this does is sicken me. The left simply talks a good game and when they get in power they crack down on free speech even more. They don't end wars, they don't end torture, and they don't care about ending the drug war and other great violations of civil liberties and human rights. They would rather run around and establish socialism, not just in economics, but in social life. They want to create a dictatorship of political correctness, and they are. I have a memo to the left; if you don't believe in free speech then don't say you do. Quit lying. And don't give me that, "But hate speech is different," crap. No, hate actions like shooting people at the Holocaust museum are different and should be punished, but speech should not.

Of course in the end this reveals the truth about the left, that they are dime store tyrants just like Bush. As a matter of fact government's intrusion into our life has increased in the few short months of Obama to more than it ever was under Bush. I never thought I would say this but I kind of wish Bush was back into office. He was bad, but not as bad as the people they have now. If Bush made me nauseate the left makes me puke, and that is that. I don't get why we can't have liberty.
