Leftover Turkey Ideas: Transform Those Leftovers into Flavorful, New Meals

Even if you didn't cook at your house this Thanksgiving, chances are you were sent home with a few Tupperware containers stuffed with leftovers. If you are like me and you don't care for eating the same meal more than two days, there are many different ways to transform your turkey leftovers into delicious new meals. Here are a few of my favorite leftover turkey ideas:

Turkey Noodle Soup - Put some of your leftover turkey pieces to good use by transforming them into a delicious, hearty soup. My Mom always makes this after Thanksgiving and I love how delicious and comforting it is. You can even make a big batch freeze some of it so you'll have some for the next time you catch a cold.

Turkey Pot Pie - This is made just like Chicken Pot Pie. The only difference, obviously is the meat. The popular website, Allrecipes has a very highly rated recipe for turkey pot pie.

Thanksgiving Leftover Bowl - This is kind of my take on KFC's Mashed Potato Bowl. Layer your leftover Turkey, cranberries, mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans all together in a bowl and enjoy.

Turkey and Swiss quesadillas with cranberry relish - This recipe is a clever way of using leftover cranberries or cranberry sauce. Spray a skillet with non stick cooking spray. Place a tortilla on the skillet, add turkey and shredded Swiss cheese. Place another tortilla on top and cook until tortilla is golden brown, turkey is heated completely, and the cheese is melted. Serve with cranberry relish or sauce.

Classic Turkey Club Sandwiches - I don't know anyone who doesn't love a good club sandwich and this is a tasty way to enjoy turkey leftovers. I particularly love the recipe from the Food Network. They suggest serving with chips and a pickle spear. I prefer using turkey bacon in my club sandwiches.

Turkey Turnovers - This recipe uses crescent rolls, found in the refrigerated section. Unroll them, layer turkey, and cheese and anything else you might want to add. If you're like me and enjoy the combination of turkey and cranberries, use them in your turkey turnovers. In this case, I omit the cheese.
