Legacy

Julia Bodeeb
The seeds I planted in your memory are now deep in the ground
And this week the torrential rain has been pouring down.

I miss you so with your joy of life you took away my pain and strife
I remember how you loved flowers and creating a garden of joy.

And I long for lush roses and tall Iris to bring a gleam to my eye
But right now as spring arrives when I miss you I cry.

I will think of you in summer as flowers burst from the earth
Your gardener's legacy living on in this annual re-birth.

I long for bright colors and flowers swaying in the wind
Every summer with a new flowers life begins again.
