Recently I've just run up against a self-professed 'spiritual teacher and empath-healer'. For reference sake, I'll call her 'Wanda'. I came across her via an acquaintance of mine who seemed (along with other 'followers') to be ' mesmerized' by her, due to what this supposed teacher/healer does, which is a technique of 'empathically melding' oneself upon renowned individuals and celebrities.
And what is this 'empathic melding', one might ask? In a nutshell, Wanda provides (with her empathic talents/potentials) - seemingly without any regard toward legal repercussions - a 'quick fix' in satisfying people who want their fan-hood curiosities quelled by providing a spiritual/mind invasion of privacy upon a targeted celebrity (or whomever is desired to have viewed) simply by 'snooping' into what she believes is that celebrity's very personal 'spiritual and psychological core energy'. Not only will she splatter on her website blog boards the details of what she's 'seen' about a person's life-essence for others to see with her, but will even go as far as asking the inquisitive audience to join in with her and to share their experiences of what they've gathered as well. She doesn't want to be alone in this charade.
Is This Ethical?
There's something a tad awry about this. "Wanda", seems to be waltzing carefree in and around legalities, almost with a masochistic tendency in wanting to be 'caught'. Actually, not wanting to mince words at this point, this is just a tidy nice way of being.... 'voyeuristically intruding' , if there's any validity of 'special potentialities' there to begin with. Sadly, 'Wanda' is not the only one doing it. It's become a 'common trend' where many self-proclaimed supposed psychic healers deludely believe that they can just delve their energies into somebody's internal private affairs, and not have to face any consequences for their actions, as somewhere, they've been taught that this whole procedure is 'perfectly natural'. And our system of legalities down on earth are out on the limb in catching them. Yet, ironically, I've seen and heard many a tale on how such psychics become very sensitive and cry out victimization, and the Courts award them for their 'defamation injuries'. What's wrong with this picture?
Yet....
NB.: No one has legal right to purposely exploit a person's privacy and informing third party (ies) of unsubstantiated personal details of any targeted individual without their permission or unless the statements can be proven as true. Otherwise, libel or invasion of privacy ensues.( Please read article "Privacy vs. Non-Privacy" for a more detailed comprehension).
Have our legal systems been... supernaturally manipulated? I know the normal reaction to such realities: a wink and a finger moving counterclockwise around the ear, signifying that 'something' is definitely askew. As California criminal lawyer Harold Weitzman has stipulated, " ... if psychics can do what they say, it would be the height of a Fourth Amendment violation. If there's any place you have a reasonable expectation of privacy, it's in your mind."
Out of Fairness
Before going further, I'd like to personally express that in taking into consideration the massive transitions our world is going through - affecting all strata of human existence - I won't deny that there are individuals who hold extraordinary abilities relative to the spirit and mind realms. Though such individuals are weighed under the scientific microscope for validity, they do manage to leave questions or imprints on people's minds. In my alternative research and experiential work, I've come to gather that the ones doing the more 'healing work', actually shun the public limelight. These extraordinarily gifted people tend to do their work 'behind the scenes' and away from the scope of inquiry.
The more 'extroverted' ones, may either courageously step forward only out of pure necessity to assist in generating equilibrium where it is needed. And maintaining it.
But what about the 'self-proclaimed' teachers/healers that believe they can proselytize an entire world with their presences, whilst lucratively making a market for themselves? Are they just another filament in the mix of the supernatural debate here on earth?
Aye, the unfolding of talents and abilities is a natural discourse, but the real question remains, "Are such gifted people utilizing and applying their special abilities ethically?".
The Seekers
When people start seeking personal answers to alleviate their life's drama from their local psychic's 'career business' just around the block, the questions that most folks ask are:
- "Who's authentic?"
- "Who's the 'genuine article' from the 'charlatan'? "
- "Can these people really help me?"
- "How can I benefit from such people?"
....and so forth, and so forth.
In other words, 'curiosity' and 'confusion' simultaneously 'merge' (the word 'merge' has become an interesting word, all of a sudden). Yet, some seeker-folks simply can't resist testing the waters. Some do it for amusement. And perhaps that's fine, as long as they also understand what the Ouija board will spit out in the long run.
However, amusement aside, there have proven to be a large percentage of our world's - let alone societal - populace, where people are very desperate in seeking spiritual-psychological answers to ease the stress out of their lives. And they have every right to ask questions. And they have every right to explore different avenues in their personal process of learning. And they have every right to receive 'honest' results.
But what exactly are 'honest results', one may ask? I'll get to this in a bit. But before I do I'd like to share that there are three types of charlatans (seeker, beware):
1) Those that have potential and misguide;
2) Those that have no potential but will surely have you believe they do, for hunger of your monies;
3) And those that have potential, misguide, and hunger for your monies.
I've learnt to beware of the utmost former and latter. Without a doubt, they have the 'potentials', and they have trained and skilled themselves to lure in the unsuspecting and naive seekers. Yet, the saddest part is that, these very charlatans - no matter what calibre they fall in - have taken themselves in the most, keeping themselves totally oblivious to the 'beautiful lies' that are constantly being spun out of their psyche.
The Sportive 'Psychic' Games
I admit the pessimism here, as I write, "Step right up folks and welcome to the new 'Spectator Coliseums' of today. Please make sure to pay your tickets at the door, have a seat and kindly refrain from contradicting the 'teacher' and try not to gasp if you can't stomach this very 'neat approach' at our world's modern dissection practices. Remember, this is much better than those blood-baths of many moons gone by. This is more...er.... evolved....well... it's more tidy. Yes, tidy. No mess or limbs to clean up. Part of Humanity has merely stepped onto a different plateau with their recycled ignorances: the Mind.
In the physical dimension of games and crimes, physical Courts of Justice can identify and seek to bring equilibrium about. However, the Mind has become an elusive arena, and crimes often go unnoticed when someone decides to use their 'special potentials' unethically.
So what really happens during the sportive games? It depends on who's doing it and according to the 'special ability' they have. For now, let's take 'empath melding or blending' as an example. Cutting to the chase, 'empath melding or blending' involves some poor innocent soul whose private spiritual/psychological innards became viewed without permission. The residual energies from the 'gawkers' - who wanted to quench their unbridled curiosities - then become smeared and left behind all over this poor soul's 'interior establishment'. The audience leaves fully contented, and the 'recipient' is left to clean up the mess, without having the slightest clue why they've suddenly become catapulted into a weird and strange... 'funk of mind'.
So the 'infiltrator' has covered their steps very well. Yes, it's all tidy and very well performed. This is even more interesting when the very 'teacher' himself/herself
stipulates that 'today's chosen target.... is an empath'. What was the definition of 'empath' again? (rhetorical question). And the targeted individual, should not have any nightmares at all...not at all. Because all what this teacher/healer is doing is..... natural.
Wrongo in the congo. By the simple logic that everything is energy - soul, mind, body....everything. And depending how the energy is manipulated or handled, this can either have positive consequences or a devastating aftermath. Likened to a stick of dynamite thrown into a nuclear reactor, is more likely the consequence when knowledge becomes mishandled.
The Honest Results
In cutting corners direct, people get taken in, because they want to. This is really what it arrives to.
If one would just have an ounce or even an iota of faith, to understand that all the answers they're seeking for are already in their Souls - where Source-God is - then they wouldn't be embarrassing themselves by running around wasting their life's energies and earnings depending on people who are caught in the web of learning just as much as they are.
That they have all what it takes to 'be healed' if they wouldn't be scared to get in touch with their own soul, instead of depending on someone else to give them the answers.
When people gather together, like a cozy little 'fireside chat', then maybe they should be discussing their own souls together, instead of discussing someone else's soul who's not even been invited into the pow-wow. That's just a tad unfair and hardly indicative of evolution. Something 'Wanda' does for a living, if that really is a living.

Post a CommentI think I know who you're referring to. I would love you to write an article on the subject of "mind control". If it is the person I think then she is definitely loopy and out on a limb.
I wish more people would read this. There are so many charlatans going around and our humanity is confused enough with them. They just make things worse.
Nailed it!
Well, well well. Someone finally got around to speaking up about this subject. I couldn't have said it better. Well done! :)
Your comment is very open-minded and refreshing. I think that you've very much nailed it... where does one cross the line and not? The world is small and I'm glad I have you in Sources! ;-) I'm so glad you wrote this comment, because it's so true what you said, that there is a way to connect without affecting another person. I just wish more would know of this way... but I think this is 'inherent sacred knowledge' and not to be desecrated. Thank you Sherry! You bubble! ;-)
Great article. I am the owner of one of the blogs you references and "Are empaths and psychic the same" is my post. I do know who you are referring to that does the picture readings of celebrities. I admit that part of her website I didn't spend much time at and I will have to go back to it know and take another look. Well there are many places on the internet and local places for development but your article really brings up the question "Where do you draw the line?" Especially when it comes to development of skills. I know when I practice Pychometry I often don't know who I am picking up. It is an unknown person to me for example when I practice using money. So when I practice have I crossed the line. Well I think not because I am not giving that information out, Also there is the fact that to read a person you do not HAVE to connect to the person. When reading a photo it is easier for some if they do connect but I know I don't have to connect to read a picture or for a spirit to com
