Watch Movies for Free Online and Offline

Are you looking for a way to save money on your entertainment expenses? Watch movies for free and entertain your family the frugal way!

Do you think your only option for watching free movies is downloading an illegal bootleg? There are several options you can use to watch movies for free that won't land you in jail.

Here are some perfectly legal options for watching free movies.

Watch Movies for Free Online

Hulu.com offers a wide variety of movies you can watch for free. These are full-length films and the quality is excellent.

Best of all, it's totally legal! Hulu.com is supported by advertisements that appear throughout the movie. The advertisements are short and appear less often than they would during a televised movie.

Hulu has several movie categories to choose from including:

Action and Adventure
Animation and Cartoons
Comedy
Drama
Family
Horror and Suspense
Science Fiction

You can watch classics as well as recent movies for free. Some of the popular free movies include: Dragonheart, Saints and Soldiers, The Karate Kid, 21 Grams, and Fatal Attraction.

Can't imagine your entire family of five huddled around the laptop? You can hook your computer up to a TV. Read this article to find out how to connect your computer to an LCD TV.

Watch Movies for Free By Using Your Local Library

Visit your local library to find DVD's you can check out for free with your library card. I live in a rural area with a fairly small library. I still found enough DVD's to keep my family entertained for months.

I was surprised to find my library stocked with new releases and Hollywood blockbusters. I found 27 Dresses and Charlie Wilson's War right alongside Veggie Tales and Barney.

Watch Movies for Free By Setting Up a Movie Swap

If you're like me, you have shelves full of DVD's. I have watched and loved all of the movies, but sometimes I'm in the mood for something I've never seen.

So, grab that well-loved copy of The Great Outdoors and see if you can swap with a friend for the week. Better yet, recruit a group to meet once a month to swap DVD's. Each person brings 5 DVD's and leaves with borrowed DVD's to enjoy with their family.

At the next meeting, the borrowed DVD's are returned to their owners. Everyone gets a chance to watch movies for free!

Nice tips, but there are also other ways in which you can get the movies you'd like to watch. Legally, btw.

Patricia - I've never tried hooking it up, but I know people who do it with their laptop. I'm pretty content to just watch on the laptop though. My desktop used to be right by my bed and we used to watch movies on it when it was there.
