Legend of the Wood

mimpi
Walking thro' the winding, maple smelling channels
Half-lit by the raked moon,
I was intrigued this time as well
They say, it's the circle of chronicles, a stroll of ecstasy

The sky - lucid and unpretentious
Told of the celestial knights
I could hear the whisper of the woods
Perhaps, it was telling of some chronicle -
The legend of a lass born in the woods
Who learnt the poetry of the nature
Talked with the moon and the maples
Danced with the wind, played with the crescent
And prophesied the squalls and the gales.

The wind swept me off my long robe
Transporting me to her world of triumph and defeat
I was dancing with the ecstasy and the lass
Whispering her poetry and living her thrills
Hanging out my woes from the silver crescent
Trying to palm the shimmers of the stars
The stars slipped every time, whipping me.
This was a pre monition, she said
And before knowing, the giant squall swallowed all that came between
We witnessed a crusade where
The elves fought the tempest
In the most epic battle of the legends of the woods

And suddenly I could feel the quiet emptiness
I had reached the place from where I had started
The wobbly wooden bridge with the unfitted peg
I never miss stepping on it.

I really liked the allusions in this piece. There were some great lines also, like "Hanging out my woes from the silver crescent."
