Legit Work at Home Jobs

Dawn Hamm
After years of working in retail management I deiced that I wanted to work at home and be my own boss and work the hours that I wanted without having to worry about my kids getting sick and not being able to be there for them. So I began a journey that has changed my life. I will admit working at home now for the last 2 years has been great but it really isn't for everyone. If you have little kids, phone jobs are hard to do as you need a work space where its quite or have a room where you can set up an office, most of these companies will record all calls and they give feedbacks and if they hear any thing like a dog barking, child crying, that is means to terminate you. I know most people that do have kids work at nights or early mornings so they don't have to worry about these issues. Most companies hire you as a independent contractor, this means that they don't take taxes out but will send you a 1099 form at tax time if you make over $600. Only a few will hire you as an employee. The rule is if you have to pay for information on a job don't do it! A few companies will have you pay for a background check and they range in price most are $30. This is the norm so don't worry if you have questions make sure to always research a company before you apply or send money. Here is a list of legit home at home companies most pertaining to processing calls or order placement and customer service. A good number of these companies service inbound calls, but there are some that are outbound projects.

Work At Home Agent (not open to contract in all states)
West hires contractors to take in coming calls for products that you see on TV . They have different lines that you can train for anything from taking orders for flowers to toys. These lines pay talk time which means your pay is based on the minutes you talk and range anywhere from .17 minute to .30 minute they do have a few lines where they pay a guaranteed rate from $6.50-$9.00 an hour.

LiveOps (not open to contract in all states)
Live ops are a lot like West but they do charge a fee for a background check of $30, they have a lot of lines like West. My friend works both West and Liveops and says the training was easier and so is the money.

Working Solutions
Working solutions is also a contractor job and they have many different companies that they take reservations for. And much harder to get into, I know friends that have been waiting for years but they are considered one of the best work at home jobs

    it's all bullshit

I used to work for Ver-a-fast. I would like to add a word of caution: while you do make calls to existing newspaper customers, you may also be required to take short 2-5 question surveys depending on what campaign you are doing and you just might make cold calls for newspapers as well. But I was a good job to do at home. However, if you like a job that's challenging, then this is not it for you.
