Lego Harry Potter Review for Nintendo DS

One of my favorite ways to spend my free time is playing video games are attempting to compare them to my expectations of the video game once I have completed the game. This is usually a task that takes a lot of time and effort if any of the video game titles that I am currently playing is not enjoyable. I have been a fan of the Harry Potter series for years now and this means that I have been looking forward to the release of the new video game titled Lego Harry Potter for the Nintendo DS system. I was able to play this game last week because I have a friend that works at Blockbuster and he was able to play the game and allow me to get my hands on a game that I was very excited for.

Lego Harry Potter for the Nintendo DS is an adventure game that focuses on the first four years of schooling for Harry Potter. What this means is that you will play the role of Harry in the story mode and be asked to guide him through places like Diagon Alleyand Hogwarts Castle. You will need to explore every aspect of the environment in order to find your wand and learn how to cast spells. You will then use your spells in order to develop your magic and then use the magic to gather up objects such as hands that will result from casting spells on objects like a dress. You will then need to use the objects that you obtain from spell casting within your environment in order to navigate each place. What I love about this is that every piece of your environment will need to be used in order to progress through the game. One new feature in this game is the ability to use moveable magic Lego blocks to your advantage in building stairs and progressing through the game. The graphics are done well and look detailed but have a cute Lego look and you eventually earn the ability to play with 100 different characters from the Harry Potter movies. However, in order to do that you will need to attend magic classes and use your spells in order to progress through your environment and earn house points. The game is very fun and has high replay value and I believe it is well worth the $30 price tag despite the complicated duel screen navigation process.
