Legoland Florida is the newest Legoland park. Scheduled to open October 15, 2011, Florida is the fifth Legoland theme park and is the largest (the other Legoland parks are in Denmark, England, Germany, and San Diego).
Legoland Florida is located in Winter Haven, Florida, on the site of the former attraction Cypress Garden and about 45 minutes from Orlando and Tampa. The park is separated into nine themed areas and has over 50 rides and shows. While the park is marketed to families with children 3-12 years old, kids of all ages will find many things to do at Legoland Florida.
Legoland Florida features several roller coasters, themed "dark rides" as well as being the first Legoland to feature a water ski show. Each day on Lake Eloise, Lego pirates come to life in a colorful pirate-themed ski and stunf show. And, this being Legoland, there are - of course - Lego models of famous landmarks including the Daytona Speedway (home of the Daytona 500), as well as miniature New York, Washington, D.C., and Kenady Space Center.
