Lemons Make Lemonade and More

Donna Daniels
Lemons make a refreshing beverage that is slightly stimulating and cool. Lemonade is a popular summer beverage since it is so refreshing and cooling when drank with ice. Fresh squeezed lemonade is a special treat on those hot summer days. Lemonade is a great party beverage at just about any summer event. You can add other fruit juices to lemonade to spice it up and even let some cut up fruit float in lemonade for a party atmosphere. Lemons are a good addition to punch for a party. Slices of lemon floating on the top of a bowl of punch are a festive addition.

Lemons are a nice fruit to put on the edge of a glass to make a drink more festive. You can take a slice of lemon and cut a small slit from the edge of the slice toward the middle of the slice. Then put the lemon slice on the edge of a glass of a fruit drink. A slice of lemon on the edge of a glass is a very easy way to dress up a drink.

Lemons are good for other things besides drinking and eating them. If you have a headache you can apply a thin piece of lemon rind from a fresh lemon to each temple on the sides of your head. The fragrance and the feel of the lemon on your head can clear up a headache.

If you suffer from indigestion you can try to drink a half of the juice from a lemon after you eat a meal everyday. This is why many restaurants put a slice of lemon on your plate with your food. If you have an irritable stomach you should not consume lemons since the acid of the lemon is not good for irritable stomachs.

When you have a sore throat a lemon can help relieve it. You can suck on a slice of lemon for a quick fix. If you like you can make a lemon syrup to sooth your throat. To make lemon syrup take some lemon juice and mix it with some honey and sip it to relieve a soar throat. If you like you can heat up the lemon and honey to feel even better results on your irritated throat. The lemon juice can clear your throat and the honey coats your throat.

Lemons are a versatile fruit with many uses. Lemons are tangy and have a lot of flavor plus they are pretty. Lemons can help you feel better and they can also make a tasty drink.
