January has been one of the slowest months in music in recent years. But once February arrives, the floodgates open, and numerous albums are released. One of February's biggest albums comes from rocker Lenny Kravitz. Lenny is back on the scene with his highly anticipated eighth studio album, It Is Time For A Love Revolution. Will Lenny have the success of his previous albums?

The first single off of It Is Time For A Love Revolution is I'll Be Waiting. The song definitely has a retro feel to it. The song features a strong melody and solid musicianship. The song is distinctly Lenny in it's feel.

Bring It On almost channels the spirit of previous Lenny hits like Are You Gonna Go My Way? The song is heavier than most of the other material on the album which is a good think.

Will You Marry Me is definitely a funk inspired up-tempo track. The song is similar to material done by the Pharrell Williams group N.E.R.D. The song is incredibly catchy and features interesting vocal harmonies.

Confused is more blues inspired than the other tracks on the album. The song shows off that while Lenny may not have the strongest vocal ability, he is very capable of delivering a very solid performance.

Good Morning clearly resembles previous Lenny mid-tempos. The song is very solid and has a very good commercial appeal to it.

A Long And Sad Goodbye is clearly one of the more introspective tracks on the album. The song is one of the few ballads on It Is Time For A Love Revolution. The song sounds almost eerie in its delivery.

This Moment is a catchy and interesting track. Lenny shows off his solid songwriting ability over this very catchy track.

Dancin' Till Dawn is a solid mid to up-tempo track. The beat is catchier than the lyrics and vocal delivery however.

Love Revolution also has a very retro sound to it. The song sounds transplanted from an entirely different era of music.

Overall It Is Time For A Love Revolution is a solid album for this day and age. While the material on the album is not Lenny's strongest, the album is still very solid. Overall It Is Time For A Love Revolution gets 7.5 out of 10. If you are a fan of Lenny Kravitz make sure you pick up It Is Time For A Love Revolution when it is stores on February 5.
