Lenny's Clam Bar has been open for business as long as I've been alive in which I was born in 1974. They are well known for their seafood variety as well as Italian food, too. Over the years, they've had famous celebrities such as the late Andre The Giant that have visited and ate there before.
Since it was relatively hot the day we visited, I didn't try the clam soup(which my Crew Coordinator did have). Since I had plenty of Italian and seafood during my job there, I ordered barbeque chicken on this occasion. When and if I'm there again, I will most definitely give clam soup a try there.
My Review of Lenny's Clam Bar & Restaurant
The bad: During busy times, it can be very troublesome to find a place to park which most any first-time visitors can see what I mean when the eat there. It isn't the biggest restaurant around in terms of space, so prepare to see congestion(as well as a potentially long wait for a table) inside the place if you go at night especially on Friday and Saturday nights. I was told that you can't reserve seats during those nights as well.
The good: The food was good as was the staff from when I visited there. Also, I like the pictures of many celebrities as you walk into the place which include famous actors as well as professional athletes from teams such as the New York Mets. You can see the bay and boats frequently going out behind the restaurant which give it an appealing view of the place, too.
Overall: With a list of celebrities that have ate there, that alone makes just about everyone want to visit at least once. The owner is frequently there and the food as well as staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend going during a time when it isn't busy to avoid parking issues and a big crowd inside. I think you will be pleasantly surprised about the pictures of celebrities, staff service, and overall food selection and quality when you go.
