Build and Design
The Y510 is quite similar to what is known of the Lenovo Company manufactured notebook. The device is equipped with a dimension of 14.3 x 10.2 x 1.1 inch that has a weight of 6.4lbs.
The device is equipped with a screen of 15.4 inch that has a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, which is quite handy for watching movies. Comparing the screen performance with other devices in the notebook market globally, one would find out that the Y50 notebook has an edge over it competitors. The screen in the device has an adequate viewing angles both in the horizontal and vertical.
The Lenovo Company also features a glossy protective layer over the glossy screen of the IdeaPad Y510 notebook.
The keyboard featured in the Y510 notebook is quite handy in the sense that it has an excellent cushion and response very fast. In spite of the handiness of the keyboard there is still some minimal trace of flex. The device provides adequate key tension for nice and smooth typing. A procurer could get a quick access to the Energy Cut Tool, which is found on the left side of the keyboard that reveals a tiny button labeled "Novo".
The ports featured in the device are quite handy and performing. The front side of the Y510 reveals the LED status lights, wireless on/off switch, 6-in-1 media card reader, and IR receiver while the rear plays host to the LED battery life indicator. Also a procurer would find the Ethernet, heat vent, VGA, two USB 2.0 ports, Firewire, and Express Card slot and the DC power jack on the left side of the device, while the right side plays host to the USB 2.0 port, Headphone out, microphone in, , S-Video, optical drive, modem, and lock slot.
A 6-cell battery supplies power to the IdeaPad Y510 notebook. A procurer could use the Novo Energy Cut Tool to regulate the power setting of the device. When application used in the device is minimal the battery is placed or equipped to stay about 180 minutes. When the AC adapter is connected to electricity and plugged to the Y510, a procurer is permitted to charge either Ipod or handset.
The device's temperature is quite cool in which a procurer would have comfort or convenient to keep in his or her lap. This is as a result of the fan equipped in the IdeaPad Y510 notebook. The hand drive featured on the bottom of the device is where the heat is generated.
The Lenovo Company has really proven their credibility in the manufacturing of notebook and equipping them with adequate performance. Although, there are some improvement that need to be done in the device, which is the processor it is equipped with. Hopefully, the next device that would be introduced by the Lenovo would be more improved than the Y510 notebook.
The IdeaPad Y510 still have the potential to compete with other devices in the notebook market globally.
