Leonard Nimoy Has an Etsy Store

When is comes to cashing in on fame and fortune one big name star has resorted to selling stuff on Etsy.com. Leonard Nimoy, best known for his character, Spock, in the Star Trek series and movies and most recently in Fox's Fringe, has a new venture....t-shirts.

Etsy has been known in the handcrafter circles for years. It is a place to sell your handmade or custom made items. Set up as a series of stores within the huge website, you sell your items from your own store front. Etsy takes a cut of the action from each of your sales, much like eBay does. You in turn get paid and ship the item out.

Mr. Nimoy joined the ranks of Etsy sellers back in March 2010. He only has 6 items listed in the store but has made nearly 400 sales. Considering that it is his personal store and given that he is famous, those sales numbers are pretty low. Then again it could be what he is offering. He is selling t-shirts.

As an Etsy seller he is promoting his store from his Twitter account at http://twitter.com/TheRealNimoy where he invites his followers to check out his t-shirts. He also sent out this tweet "Appearing at Creation convention Chicago Oct 22nd and Carpenter Center Long Beach October 23rd. Hope to see you. Wear your LLAP T shirt LLAP" about the upcoming Star Trek convention and pushing his t-shirts.

His Etsy store is at http://www.etsy.com/shop/SecretSelves and is called Secret Selves. It almost has hints of the TV show "Fringe" in it. If you are of a curious nature, I am sure you will go and see what the t-shirts look like. Maybe if he offered to sign each one of them, his sales might increase.
