Filming is Now Under Way on J. Edgar Starring Leonardo DiCaprio
The role of J. Edgar Hoover, the legendary head of the FBI in the 1930's is one that takes a special actor to fill, but it's not just the regular acting that is making this a unique role for heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio, it's the intimate relationships of a special kind that find him playing for the other team.
The movie has much of it's focus spent on J. Edgar Hoover's private life, and it is well known now that J. Edgar Hoover was a homosexual, as well as being rumored to be a cross-dresser. The movie has a number of scenes where Leonardo DiCaprio will be seen kissing Clyde Tolson, his rumored lover, who is played by Armie Hammer.
According to Leonardo DiCaprio "the script is great", and with Clint Eastwood directing, this is set to be one of the blockbuster movies of 2012.
The cast also includes Josh Lucas (Life As We Know It, Daydream Nation) as aviator Charles Lindbergh, Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl, S Dark) as Agent Smith, Judi Dench (Quantum Of Solace, Pride & Prejudice) as Ann Marie Hoover and Naomi Watts (Eastern Promises, King King) as Helen Gandy.

I agree, he does look the part. I think he will play this role really well.
I like DiCaprio as an actor. (We fondly call him "Cappuccino.") And he even LOOKS like J. Edgar Hoover!
I can't imagine that they are just going to make this movie with a focus on his gay side. I don't think you would see such talented professionals as Leonardo DiCaprio and Clint Eastwood involved if it was. I think it's going to be true Oscar material and a great story of J. Edgar Hoover's life.
