Leonardo DiCaprio's the 11th Hour is a Must-see Movie for Earth Day

Earth Day is right around the corner, and I highly recommend that everyone watch Leonardo DiCaprio'sThe 11th Hour DVD to commemorate the global holiday. The captivating documentary begins with a haunting warning, but ends with such a positive message that you'll want to start making a difference as soon as the credits begin to roll.

Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio himself, The 11th Hour explores the perilous state of our planet, and the means by which we can change our course. Contributing to this crucial film are noted politicians, scientists and other ambassadors for the importance of a universal ecological consciousness.

At the beginning of The 11th Hour, Leo explains, "The evidence is now clear. Industrial civilization has caused irreparable damage. Not only is it the 11th hour, it's 11:59. Our political and corporate leaders have consistently ignored the overwhelming scientific evidence." Scientists go on to explain, "What we saw with Katrina is just a prologue. The worst is yet to come."

My favorite part of this documentary is that despite worsening environmental conditions, it leaves you with a true feeling of hope and renewal. Leonardo goes on to ask us, "Will our pivotal generation create a sustainable world in time? Everyone making a change adds up to something meaningful. Five hundred years out, people will look back at this time and know that this was our finest hour. This generation gets to completely change this world."
