Using eye contact is one of the easiest ways to connect to your date. Look directly into her eyes as she speaks to you while occasionally smiling during the conversation. If there is a moment of awkward silence, just smile. It will help relieve any tension and the best part is that it is contagious.
Who Pays?
Figuring out who's going to pay in lesbian dating can be difficult at times. If you suggested the date, it would be nice to offer to pay. If she seems okay with that, then pick up the check the first time and agree to split the bill or alternate for the following dates. It might be easier to go out for a cup of coffee first and pick up that bill.

On your first date, don't bring up your ex-girlfriends in conversation. You may end up sounding bitter or angry towards an ex and that is not something your date wants to hear. If she brings up the topic, be sure to comment positively and do not dwell on the subject for long.

A couple drinks are fine on your first date. They can lighten the mood and relax you a bit. But beware of having too much to drink because it can affect the outcome of your date. You might end up saying something you shouldn't have said or doing something that you may regret later.
It's Not All about You
Avoid talking about yourself too much because this can come as you being more interested in yourself than in her. It is better to leave some mystery about yourself too.
