Less Taxes? Where Will Government Income Come From?

An Editorial About People'e Opinion of Government Today

John Mario
Those people who expect Congress to pass bill without perks, don't understand the nature of a democracy. Furthermore I don't think people want to understand the nature of a democracy. It's simple. If they want more efficient spending, then they should vote for the Congressman who will do nothing -- I repeat -- nothing for the states and everything -- I repeat -- everything -- for the nation. Then and only then will there be no perks -- no military contracts for any state due to Congressional deals -- no federal funds to help any state resolve it's budget problems -- no money for any state's infrastructure -- no funds for natural disasters -- nothing! Absolutely nothing for any state and everything for our nation.

You can find a very efficient government if you live in a dictatorship with no legislature. Although you don't like the idea, the most efficient system is a system where one man decides everything.

Now let's talk about TARP. The Republicans are making their false claims about TARP. Well here's what I have to say. TARP is a system that not only retrieves what it loaned out but also earns extras money by selling the stock options after the firm has become solvent. That's right. In April the US Treasury pulled in 161.1 million dollars by selling stock options. Thats how it works. The treasury gets the stock options when the company in in trouble. Consider the stock options interest on the loan. After the firm uses the loan from TARP to become solvent, the company pays the loan back and then the Treasury sells the stock options.

The Republican preference is to let the banking system collapse and then wait two decades for new banks to come into existence. Why two decades? Because Republicans want to eliminate the sources of capital for new banks: the federal agencies!! The Republicans want to eliminate the life line for those who were not blessed with the ability to do for themselves: Entitlement programs. And I don't trust the Republicans to do what's best for those who risked their lives for our nation. They have not supported many of the benefits the Democrats tried to get through Congress. Imagine that! What nerve! The Republicans are attaching a price to the lives of our soldiers. The Republicans are so bent on less spending, they would even let those who risked their lives for our country go without additional compensation because it costs too much! Well then I say let those Republicans who oppose more benefits for our soldiers fight the wars!

The federal government needs an income. The Tea Party folks want to reduce or eliminate taxes. I think they don't know what they are talking about. They won't recognize that government needs an income until they drive our government bankrupt and our people into poverty. Now you may wonder why I said folks instead of saying politicians. Well, when Sarah Palin stops talking like a housewife and starts talking like a person qualified to be part of our government -- and I'm sure she is capable -- I'll call her a politician. Until then she's just another celebrity -- one of the folks!

What's wrong with the government earning a profit as long as strict guidelines are set. People don't want any taxes. Well, if they want our government to survive, they need to give the government another way to earn money. They want another form of taxation like some sort on tax on items you buy: a tax rate at 23%!

You will be paying a lot more taxes than you are paying today if any of the other types of taxation are implemented at the national level. So make up your minds: You have your choices:

Move to a dictatorship ( I warn you: You won't like it!)

Allow the government to earn an income

Pay more taxes (I know you don't like this!)

Let the Government go bankrupt (The Republican Option)

Best of luck and God bless!!

Thanks for defining to those who seem to not listen or understand what Republican want! Nothing for anyone that really contributes to this country! Great work as usual John!
