Our current Muslim ummah is not intact. We are not intact together because nowadays we don't find solutions through our resources such as the Our'an and Prophet. Mere simply following practices such as the proper clothes for men and women seems faithful. Even though so many Muslims are not able to determine right from wrong those who are should listen and take into consideration for what everyone has to say, but also determine what to actually follow. We should also create the laws of our own through the resources we have. Bringing back the Islamic law would be a long process, however, can have many benefits. Many idealistic views on bringing back Islam to its original state have obstructed the main goal to establish the law based on Qur'an and the Prophet.
Many civilizations of the past had experienced a similar problem that the Islamic state is facing today. They all had trouble setting an official course throughout their beginnings and were struck with something new. With Islam it was no different than other civilizations except with the fact that we were blessed with the Qur'an. Even today we have trouble with establishing a proper ideology based on such teachings. Many civilizations had trouble advancing forward because they were afraid to let go of their past and traditions. At the birth of Islam the civilization had outstanding achievements to the people of the region such as an outstanding community and a justified law system. The problem was to create a flexible, but firm civilization. If Islam is to rise to the top as it once has we shouldn't take ideology from other civilizations otherwise we would end up like them.
The Islamic civilization and Muslims all over need their own way of life. If we have a strong based way of thinking then we can withstand the changes in our society. Our ways of life on the outside world is changing and modernizing. Although our ideology should remain stagnant our way to live is changing. We are taking, not from the Qur'an and the teachings of the Prophet, but from the Western civilization. In what we do we fall behind many civilizations because we are not actually constructing our own ways and views on the world. Our uluma and past teachings will disappear if not taken into consideration. These are times that the world has changed through things such as globalization which has changed the world and the Islamic civilization.
Our ways of life are in danger. If we do not establish our laws in which involve the many practices and teachings of past civilization, then Islamic civilizations will cease to hold the amazing ideology it once did.
