I once started talking to a man that lived about an hour away. I talked to him for several weeks, and decided that I would agree to meet him. I only saw one picture of the guy, and I have to tell you that he looked very different than his picture. His profile was full of lies, including that of his height. This guy was only about 5 foot tall, when his profile declared that he was 5 ft. 7 inches tall. Luckily I had a couple friends with me when I met him, so I ended up getting away from him quickly. Don't get me wrong, appearances are not everything, but when you lie about your profile, doesn't that say something about your personality?
Another situation I can tell you about is the life of a woman I know. This woman receives numerous amounts of expensive gifts from men all over the world, that she has no intentions on ever meeting. She lies in her profiles about many different things, including the fact that she is married. Her now ex-husband, who is a friend of mine, caught on to her scheme after several years of her doing this, and actually sent these naive men true pictures of his 350lb. wife. Needless to say, she had to find other men to scam. This woman had one picture on all of her profiles, that were pictures of models that looked nothing at all like her.
Though I have told you of a couple of on line dating horror stories, there are many stories of on line dating that have happy ending. One friend of mine met her husband on line over 5 years ago, and they are still very much in love. This proves that there are good things that come out of on line dating as well.
If you really want someone to date you and maybe eventually love you, why would you lie about yourself. Be honest and you may find the person of your dreams, who love you for exactly who you are. You have every reason to insist that someone send you several pictures of themselves before you agree to meet them. If they will not send you pictures, they are probably hiding something.

Post a CommentLaura, I really enjoy your article. You are right, I had many bad experience dating people on line, so I stoped looking, it is waste of time. Happy ending on line...? yes, but maybe one on a million. Excellent Article!!!
