Let Me Love You

Dawn Crowell

Let me love you, you say to me

Why, you don't even know me?

You want my love to shine with you

But you don't have a clue

Your gifts

Your treats

They are far beneath you

Let me love you, you say to me

Do you even know what love means to me?

It's more than just a game for two

More than just one night of lust with you

Let me love you, you say to me

Humph

You superficial ways don't blend with my style

Your vision of love is twisted and weak

Filled with confusion at each turn of the cheek

Baby come on let me love you, my way

You say your love can move mountains

You have the funds to provide

You can make me happy at the blink of an eye

The cash, the diamonds, and the gems you place upon my breast

You sit back and smile

Whey!

What an accomplishment

But I say is that all you got to give to make me happy

Where is the love and my vision of happiness?

Sweetie let me love you, you say to me

Why would I?

I'm not your average chick looking for a time and a pocket full of cash

I'm that special unique find, and by the way I've got my own stash

The strength of my love runs deeper than what's between my thighs

My love for you can be endless

Or just a moment in time

Let you love me, why would I want to?

Am I that woman that crosses your mind each moment of the day?

Am I that woman you see when you close your eyes to blink?

Am I that woman you inhale in your sleep?

Am I that woman you will build dreams with?

Let you love me...I don't know

Can you be the man who will stand by my side?

Can you be the man who leaves endless smiles upon my face?

Will you share more than just your body?

Your mind?

Your heart ?

Your soul ?

Hmmmmm...a lot to think about when you say let me love you.

Very nice. I had a different take on the subject. "Let me love you"
