He is a comic genius and an amazing writer. He has a flair for adult drama with a mix of comedy which makes for his writing very intriguing.
I wouldn't classify him as slapstick at all, he's genuine and the stories that he writes deal with everyday life that so many of us can relate to.
His latest compilation is his hit series on HBO called Curb Your Enthusiasm. This series is not as comedic as Seinfeld and deals with more Larry's real life.
There are several big names that star in this series such as Richard Lewis, Paul Riser, Ted Danson and several special guests have appeared like Martin Short, Alanis Morisette and Shaquille O Neal.
Each episode is a series of events that Larry typically finds himself tangled up in some sort of issue or dilemma, by the end of the show everything ties together and the climax is amazing! A must see.
Here are a few little known facts that you may not know about this amazing comedian and actor.
Larry was born Lawrence Gene "Larry" David on July, 2 1947 in Brooklyn, New York
He has two daughters whom he shares custody with his former wife.
He enjoys writing about self depreciation and everyday life stories. With his real passion being sketch comedy.
The star of the new Comedy Central show The Sarah Silverman show starring Sarah Silverman owes Larry David the inspiration for her to become a comedian.
Another little known fact about Larry is that he saved the day literally for one gentleman. Back in 2004, he helped clear a man named Juan Catalan who was being accused of first degree murder. Juan was arrested on suspicion of being involved that murder case. He claimed he was at a LA Dodgers baseball game. Fate stepped in because Curb Your Enthusiasm happened to be taping an episode and unmistakably filmed Juan in the flesh with his daughter, thus the charges were dropped.
Larry started off in stand up and also wrote for Saturday Night Live for a short time but the success from the smash hit Seinfeld is what really catapulted Larry into fame, his estimated net was just over half a billion dollars from that show alone. Seinfeld was one of the greatest shows recorded in television history.
Another little known fact is that Larry was the mastermind and character behind George Costanza.
Seinfeld was on the air for nine years but Larry only wrote on the show for seven years, he then returned later to write the shows finale episode.
I think Larry David is amazing, his character on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry, is truly someone whom I can relate to with life's indifference's, realming around family, friends, society and work.
Another little known fact is that almost all of the regular characters on the show have a special attribute, they have their first real name, but of course different last names.
With almost seven years running fans keep coming back for more comedic antics from Larry and the gang.
Larry David is an inspiration to me as I pursue my writing goals and I watch his shows regularly to learn from him and of course get my daily dose of laughter.
