I think the answer is that the government has been successful in morphing our brains and just hypnotizing us into mindless beings who are only worried about paying bills, television shows, latests trends, loosing weight and other menial things. We have lost our will to resist. Long gone are the days of the sixties and the seventies where we had a voice. Long gone are the days when we had a will and a brain to use. Social awareness is long gone as well and we all became consumed with ourselves and ignored the others completely. The results of this are catastrophic. We became ruled by fear. Fear of the others, fear of a vicious enemy who just want to hurt us and we do not even know who this enemy is. Thus, now since we are always afraid, we can not question anything. We no longer have a voice. We no longer resist anything. We became small machines that produce money to be taken away again and the cycle continues.
Let us face it, the economy is horrible. Rate of bankruptcy is growing madly. Unemployment is high. Gas prices are at all time high. Now we are just ecstatic when gas drops below $3.00 a gallon!! Excuse me but I still remember it being 0.99 cents a gallon! Education is horrendous. Students can not read, write or do any math. Health-care is a joke. The rich is getting richer, and the poor is getting poorer. We are not making a progress in Iraq. I repeat WE ARE NOT MAKING ANY PROGRESS IN IRAQ. Simply for the fact that we do not know what is progress and we do not know who is the enemy and we do not know what exactly does it mean to finish the job that we went to do.The war is not ending and as of the last report by the congressional committee we will spend $1.3 trillion dollars in war costs by 2008. Not only that but it estimated 3.5 trillion by 2017. They are planning to stay there until when exactly? and why on earth are we spending all this money on a country that did not go to war with us? And why is this so-called war taking so long? World War II did not last more than five years and that was a WORLD WAR!!
What in the world is going on??!! And until when are going to wait to react? Are we going to wait until they call a draft? Or when gas is $5.00 a gallon? Are we going to wait until they go to war with Iran? Are we going to wait until the kids are reading third grade level when they are in ninth or even tenth grade? Are we going to wait until we (the common people) are all bankrupt or loose our houses? Are we going to wait until we loose our jobs because it was shipped to India? Are we going to wait for another report that says we have a progress in Iraq? Are we going to wait for the politics to take its course? Are we going to wait for maybe Martin Luther King to come back and march in D.C because he will not. We need to do something for ourselves because no one is going to do anything for us. These politicians are sitting down in their air-conditioned offices getting 200 k a year and limos to drive them back to and from work that is if they decide to go to work. Please do not believe the politicians because they do not care and they do not want to help. It is up to us only.
What can we do? Protest, protest and protest until our lungs give out. We should show the government that we are aware of the quagmire they have caused. We should tell them that we will no longer accept it and we are going to need a change to occur immediately. Not in 2010, not in 2009 or 2008. We need to see some changes now.

Post a Comment1st Bin Laden has not been caught or killed because he is Saudi and we have a deal with them. Remember Bush holding hands, we have to worry about China Clinton's deal he made in office with them, Money What's that? The one's who have don't care. The iraq is not a war, it's an occupation because of oil and geograpic location, there are Islamic peoples who want us dead. We need to be there. It should not have cost 1.3 trillion the public needs to sue halliburton> But the men and women need to be protedted. And yes we as a society have been brainwashed witht TV, the media persuassions, biased news coverage, and pubic schools which are teaching the kids to think outside the box and problem solve. Most young people don't thhink they need to be concerned with their future, they have been moddeycoddled for way too long. They don't have work with their families to survive any longer these days. The liberal politically correct have ruined this country. There are a few who speak out, speak up an
